C'est La Vie - Scrapstuffz

 Good Morning! Today is my day to share my layout for the inspiration photo at Scrapstuffz. When I saw this photo the first thing I saw was the bright colours. If you know me, most of my projects are earthy colours, so I wasn't sure what to do. Then I thought of the C'est La Vie collection from BoBunny and my mind got thinking. What about some pink and yellow paint? A little modeling paste? Punched border maybe? Ohhh the cameo..bet I could find a few cuts there. And before I knew it, my project was done! What a Wonderful Day

Morning! Can you believe it's February already? Come on Spring..I'm ready!! Since it's Monday, that means a new sketch reveal is up at Let's Get Sketchy. This is a photo of the hubs and I taking a selfie at the dog park. I know..your thinking I have such an exciting life right? The dog park is the highlight of the week around here, lol. I picked up some new goodies at the scrap store awhile back and thought I should maybe use them up before all the new CHA goodies arrive, lol. Time Is A Great Storyteller

Happy Monday my friends! How's your day going? Today I'm sharing a project I did for the latest sketch at Let's Get Sketchy. I usually don't scrap 3 photos on a layout, so I turned the sketch on it's side and added some of the cut pieces from the patterned paper. I had these little photos of myself in the infamous "photo box" on my desk, so I decided to use them. I wanted to add a "little" stamping to the background, but as usual got a touch carried away! But hey, at least all those stamps in my stash are getting used!! So I'm off to my next project.. I hope you can stop by and maybe play along with us!!

Fall Is In The Air

Good Morning and Happy Monday! It's hard to believe the calendar has turned over to a New Year! I'm still playing catch up with some fall photos, lol. This is Jax and I just sharing a little moment on our fall family photo shoot. I had the farmhouse paper left over from my Dec. sketch, so I wanted to use it up and this photo seemed to fit the bill. I even pulled out some stamps and gave the background a little "this and that" lol. This project is for our new sketch up at Let's Get Sketchy. Autumn Traditions

 Good Morning and Happy Monday! I have a new layout to share using this weeks sketch from Let's Get Sketchy. I love Ashley's sketches and this one was fun to play with. It left tons of room for some creative freedom. The first thing I noticed was the borders and that's when I decided the Farmhouse collection I had on my desk would be fun to use. I had this photo of Daisy and I from our fall photo shoot at the lake. I challenged myself to NOT use a plain or neutral background.. Live The Life You Imagined

Good Morning and Happy Wednesday!! With the long weekend, I'm so confused at what day it really is, lol. This is just a "for fun" layout I did using the New Avenues collection from BoBunny. I couldn't wait to play with this collection. The papers are all so stunning. Doors, clocks, birds, doilies, do I need to say more?? Eat Pray Love - Bo Bunny

Happy Friday Everyone!! I hope you all have an exciting weekend coming up. We are headed to our daughter's today to see her compete in a ballroom dance competition. She hasn't competed in almost 5 years, so I'm so excited to watch her dance again. I'll fill you all in when I get back! Today at Bo Bunny our design challenge is to use a Book Title on our projects. I chose "Eat Pray Love". It was a beautiful story and also it's a good life mantra! I was pretty excited to get to design with the new Anthem collection. It's Red, White and Blue, but you can see it's very versatile for any page. I love the deep rich colors. I also played a little with my Cameo making the title. I'm learning how to weld those letters together! One step at a time right? I hope you can stop by and even play along with our challenge. You know there is always some Bo Bunny goodness to be won!!

Ten Things About Me

Morning Everyone!! And before I begin, I want to wish my sweet friend Laurie a Very Happy Birthday!! And guess what? It's my birthday too! So to celebrate I did a layout all about me, lol.. I loved this photo hubs took of me cuddling with the pups on the couch. This is our after dinner routine, a couch cuddle! Nothing compares to a cuddle with two big doodles, lol. I made this layout using a card, which can flip open and reveal my ten most intimate life details, lol.. ok, I'm not really all that exciting, but hey I try, lol. I know your so curious right? What are those ten things.. well I'm going to share them with you, lol. ( even if you didn't want to know).

1. I've been playing the piano since I've been 5 years old. 2. I love earthy colors, but have a love for pink too. 3. I have Essential tremor which means I shake, alot somedays. 4. I've dyed my hair since my 20's.. I'm totally grey. 5. I love pizza and pasta but hate feta cheese. 6. I always wanted 6 kids ( I guess 2 of mine, 1 son-in-law, 1 almost daughter in law, and 2 doodles does equal 6). 7. I love pigs, socks, pillows and even my phone case is a pig. 8. I love to read mysteries. 9. I'm always in bare feet, I hate socks. 10. I've had 10 different jobs since highschool! ( my favorites are my job working with seniors with Alzheimers and being a scrapbook designer).

Merry & Bright & A Blog Hop Winner

Happy New Years Everyone!!! Today I'm sharing a layout I did for my local scrapbook store Urban Scrapbook. I started doing projects for the store last February and just recently got added to the "display" team. We all work with the same materials and then they are all displayed together at the front of the store. It's so much fun to see what the other girls did. As most of you know since early December I've been pretty sick, so I hadn't touched a piece of paper or a paint brush in nearly three weeks. This morning I headed into the studio and played around ( since my layout was due today). It was nice to play a little. Hope you all have a blessed New Years filled with joy, love, laughter and scrappy goodness!! I'm so thankful to all of you who follow my blog, who leave such sweet comments and those that have become facebook friends. You fill my days with laughter and smiles!!!

Why? To Believe In Me

Morning!! I wanted to share a layout I created  for a very unique challenge. This one was interesting. It was just for the design team at Let's Get Sketchy. We were suppose to do a layout to answer the question "Why Do You Scrap". This is one of the hardest layouts I've done. I really had to stop and reflect. I will share what my journaling reads so you can see my answer.

When I asked myself why I scrap I really had to think. It started as a way to preserve my families journey., but it became more than that. It became...about Me. It's about letting my creative side come through. It's about believing in myself. It's expressing myself through my art. It's being that creative person who has been hiding for so long. To shy to say...this is who I am, and I love myself again.

I'm So Lucky To Have You In My Life

Good Morning, Good Morning...(my attempt at singing) lol. Today at Practical Scrappers we are featuring Birthday Layouts! The design team is just so talented. They are all unique and such a beautiful group of women. I also took inspiration from the amazing sketches at Scrapfriends. For my layout I did a few photos of my sister and myself on our birthday. We have birthdays three days apart, but we always say we are twins, lol. We are the best of friends. My sister and I call each other every morning to talk about what's new on the blog feed, what we are scrapping, and what's new since last night's coffee!! We live really close together so we get to see alot of each other. Our kids are more like siblings than cousins and we are always celebrating something, lol. So Sis...this one's for you! There is a new sketch up this week at Sketchabilities! The oh-so talented Karan has done it again. Another fabulous sketch! I hope to see you come play along with us this week. When I went to see Pat at Urban Scrapbook she challenged me yet again. She gave me a new line to play with called Fab-Scraps. She said "Lynn...what about a cooking layout?"..I was so proud to announce that I was on my way home to bake apple pies that afternoon. Perfect right?? So I had this fabulous paper, delicious apple pies and a perfect photo opportunity! I see my hair was going in 50 different directions..but hey, I was baking, lol. Life's A Garden

Last summer my husband and I went to the Calgary Zoo for the day. My favourite place to go was the Butterfly Garden where you can sit inside and watch all the butterflies flutter around. It's so peaceful to just sit and watch them in a natural habitat. It gave me a chance to just sit and reflect. I did this layout for a challenge at CropStop where they had a beautiful sketch by Becky Fleck with a prompt to use numbers on your layout. I'm drinking coffee and scrapping late again, lol. Tapping fingers......

Wishful Soul

When I saw this sketch by Karan Gerber at Sketchabilities  I wanted to do it right away. I just love her! When I saw the banner I went "yikes". That's what I love about challenges. They sometimes take you out of your comfort zone or let you try things you wouldn't normally do. My first thought was....wedding layout! But then I sat and thought about it. I wanted to do pink and frilly, and it took me 2 hours to find a photo, lol. I wish I had a baby girl ( anyone want to borrow me a grandbaby?) I ended up picking a photo of me with my new "piggy mittens" I got for my birthday when we went to Banff for the weekend.  Then I stopped by Scrapping The Music and when I heard the song "I'm alive" and read the lyrics I knew what the layout was going to be called. Those girls over there really have to stop making me cry. I don't share alot of my personal story on my blog, so that's why alot of the time it's in hidden journaling. For my journaling I used the lyrics to the song. It spoke to my heart. So thank you Karan for the beautiful sketch and for the girls who always touch my heart at Scrapping the Music.
