Promises

It's Thursday friends, so that means it's time to sing along at Scrap It With A Song. Our song this week is "American Girl" by Tom Petty. Well..I'm Canadian, so I thought this was going to be a tough challenge until I read the lyrics. They were so fitting for a layout of my daughter Nicole.
My journaling reads (from the song)
" Raised on Promises,
She couldn't help thinkin'
That there was a little more to life somewhere else
After all is was a great big world"
She is one brave young woman. She packed up and moved to a different city to follow her dreams. I'm a home body, so she is my inspiration to try and do new things. She is an amazing young woman. I stopped by ScrapFriends blog and of course there was the perfect sketch to follow for my layout, so this just came together nicely. So..stop by, get your singing voices ready and come play along at Scrap It With A Song!

Thanks so much for stopping by. I love reading your comments and I appreciate your scrappy support! Have a wonderfully happy scrappy day! Lynn

What's Cooking

There is a new sketch up this week at Sketchabilities! The oh-so talented Karan has done it again. Another fabulous sketch! I hope to see you come play along with us this week. When I went to see Pat at Urban Scrapbook she challenged me yet again. She gave me a new line to play with called Fab-Scraps. She said "Lynn...what about a cooking layout?"..I was so proud to announce that I was on my way home to bake apple pies that afternoon. Perfect right?? So I had this fabulous paper, delicious apple pies and a perfect photo opportunity! I see my hair was going in 50 different directions..but hey, I was baking, lol. So thanks to my friends at Urban for the beautiful materials and Karan at Sketchabilities for the fabulous sketch!!

Thanks so much for stopping by. I love reading your comments and I appreciate your scrappy support! Have a wonderfully happy scrappy day! Lynn
