The Cover Girl - Harlequin 2025 Summer Blog Tour

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

When Birdie Rhodes was only thirteen years old, she was discovered by modeling agent Harriet Goldman. She quickly entered the world of modeling hoping she would finally fit in. When Birdie goes on a shoot for a rock album cover, the rockstar takes notice and that’s when Birdie’s life changes. Soon she is on the road, madly in love and still trying to fit in. When life takes a drastic turn, Birdie’s career and personal life are on the line.

Decades pass and Birdie is quietly living her life. When she gets an invitation to attend a party celebrating Harriet’s life, she is at a crossroads. Can she face the woman who started her career, the one person who truly loved her after thirty years apart? Should she finally face the truth of what happened so long ago?

This novel by Amy Rossi took us deep into the tragic life of modeling at a young age. I found the book fascinating and reading Birdie’s story tugged at my heart. The story wound together seamlessly throughout as the book went back in time and then forward to present day. I enjoyed the book but kept wanting to dive deeper into Birdie’s feelings to know her better. She went through the book somewhat numb to everything around her. Seen but not heard. My thanks to Amy Rossi, Harlequin Trade Publishing and Netgalley for my advanced readers copy which I voluntarily read and reviewed. Grab a copy and step into the  complex world of modeling.

Author Bio:  Amy Rossi received her MFA from Louisiana State University, and she lives in North Carolina, by way of Massachusetts, with her partner and two dogs. The Cover Girl is her first novel.

Beach Reads and Deadly Deeds - Harlequin Blog Tour

⭐⭐⭐⭐

Mia Crawford, an accountant is practical. She loves her grandmother, her cats and most of all her books. She loves getting lost in a story and always has a book on the go. When her company wants to send her on a vacation, she would rather have the money to put in her retirement fund, but she relents. Mia needs a life. An exciting life like the characters in her books.

Mia heads out to a private island for her vacation. She is ready to relax, read, and maybe have a fling. When she gets to the island, she goes to find a book in the gift shop and picks up one that a guest has left behind. Mia has no idea when she opens the first page how the book will change her life. Soon she is embroiled in a mystery, the pages of the book giving her clues, and Mia does not know who to trust and who just may be the next victim.

Twists, turns, mysteries and a romance all tied into one a fabulous book by Allison Brennan. I loved the story and the characters. I had no clue who was guilty until the very end of the book. As usual for Ms. Brennan, just when you think you have it figure out, she goes in a different direction. My sincere thanks to Allison Brennan, Harlequin Trade Publishing and Netgalley for my advanced copy which I read and reviewed voluntarily. A perfect beach read for the summer.

The Summer of Starting Over - Book Review

The Summer of Starting Over  by Savannah Carlisle
                                                                            ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Callie Jackson, a country music star is heading home to Big Dunne Island to clean out her parents’ home. She hasn’t been home since her parent’s funeral, so she is hesitant what will be waiting for her. She left as a young girl after being discovered and has been on the road since. She left everything behind, her family, her friends and her first love. Now she must face all the tough choices she made years ago.

One person Callie will have to face is Jesse Thomas, the boy she told not to follow her to Nashville. When she left, she took his heart with her. He stills lives in Big Dunne Island and has made his own choices since she left. Can Callie repair the broken relationships? What will happen when she finds out her friends and family have been keeping a secret from her? Will she run back to Nashville or finally stop running and stay home on Big Dunne?

I absolutely adored this novel by Savannah Carlisle. The characters in the novel pulled at your heartstrings and they were all so easy to love. The story is set in a small town, has amazing characters and is the first in a new series which is my favourite kind of book to read. The novel flowed seamlessly and I loved the little added twists and surprises. Thank you to Harpeth Road Press for my advanced copy which I voluntarily read and reviewed. Spotted at Lighthouse Bay by Amelia Addler

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Adelaide is staying with her sister Sheila after her marriage and job ended. It is the perfect place to start the next chapter of her life. She spends her day sipping tea in the tea house, strolling the beach and just relaxing. Everything is peaceful until her mother and a bodyguard show up unannounced. Her mother is there after being scammed and is looking for her daughters to bail her out yet again. The body guard is saying he is there to protect her against a threat issued to her ex-husband. Adelaide is non too impressed with either new guest.

As Adelaide and Rick start to spend more time together, it gets harder to keep things professional between them. With her family around her, can Adelaide open her heart again? Can Rick face his demons and still protect Adelaide?

Amelia Addler brings us another amazing novel filled with family, friends and an unfolding mystery. As this is the fourth book in the Spotted Cottage series, we get to meet new characters but also get to see what characters from the previous books are up to. Although it is a series, you could easily read this as a stand alone novel as Amelia does an amazing job filling in the back story. I loved the romance between Adelaide and Rick and it was nice to have a mid life couple fall in love. My sincere thanks to Amelia Addler for my advanced readers copy which I voluntarily read and reviewed. Come join the group for tea at the Spotted Cottage this spring.

A Spot at Starlight Beach book review

Mackenzie Dennet has come home to San Juan Island after losing her job and her boyfriend. She is down in the dumps and is not sure where she goes from here. When she gets the offer to help her family in their cause to relocate a captured whale, she begrudgingly takes it. How hard can it be? The difficult part comes when first she is approached by smooth talker Cameron to come work for him, and secondly when she meets Liam, a quiet artist who is staying on the island. She has no time for a relationship so she tries to ignore them both. Can she focus on Lottie the whale and put these two men aside?

This third book in the Spotted Cottage series by Amelia Addler is another fabulous read. We have our old friends from the first two books to catch up with, and also some new characters that add an interesting twist to the story. I was hooked by the end of page one, and could not put the book down. In Amelia’s style of romance and mystery, the story is brilliantly written and I can not wait to see what happens next. My thanks to Amelia Addler for my advanced readers copy which I voluntarily read and reviewed. Come to the San Juan islands and lose yourself in this amazing series.

Amelia Addler writes always sweet, always swoon-worthy romance and women's fiction stories and believes that everyone deserves their own happily ever after. She is lucky enough to be married to that man and they live in Pittsburgh with their little yellow mutt.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Mia D’Angelo is going home for Christmas. It has been a long year as she is a third-year pediatric resident and does not get a lot of time off. She also has promised her parents that she will bring her boyfriend Brax along for the holidays. There is just one little problem. Brax and Mia broke up months ago and she did not have the heart to tell her parents as her mom was struggling with a health crisis. The countdown is on and Mia is trying to find a Brax replacement.

When Braxton Hughes finds out Mia need a fake boyfriend for Christmas, he is a little weary. He was dating Mia, but broke it off because he does not do long term relationships. They are still friends, but Braxton can not stand the idea that she will take someone else home, so he offers to go along.

What transpires is a family full of warmth ready to welcome Braxton into their family. How long can Mia and Brax keep up the charade? Will the magic of Christmas find it’s way into their hearts?

The Rancher's Love Song - Book Review

Lizzy Dalton need a change. She is tired of her overbearing father and his company so she quit her job and her life in the big city. Her dream is to be an opera singer, and her father managed to take that from her too. The one place she remembers feeling loved and safe is the ranch she grew up on. Lizzy’s father took her away from the ranch and the two aunts she grew up with. When Lizzy drives up to the ranch, a grumpy ranch manager greets her, and since she has given up on men, she adds him to the list of “do not go there”.

Travis Taylor has loved and lost. His last girlfriend convinced him to join him on her music tour, and he hated every minute. He gave her up and the city, turned around and went back to the life he loves, being on a ranch. When he meets Lizzy, he is determined to stay out of her way. All he needs is another singer trying to make it in the big city.

When circumstances throw Lizzy and Travis together, time and time again, will their hearts find a way to love again?

I absolutely adored this first novel in The Women of Dalton Ranch by author Makenna Lee. Travis and Lizzy have a slow burn relationship which I love. Add in Lizzy’s two aunts and a foster baby with Down’s Syndrome and your heart just begins to melt reading the story. This novel has family, friendship and a new romance all wrapped up in a beautiful story. Thank you to Makenna Lee for my advanced readers copy which I voluntarily read and reviewed. Coral Celebration - Book Review

Summer Beach is having it's 100th year celebration and the town is abuzz. Marina and her family are excited about the celebration but Marina is pretty firm she has no time to help organize the event. That is until the Mayor personally asks her and when her family volunteers to pitch in, well, she just can not say no. Even if it falls on her first wedding anniversary.

While the planning is underway, things are happening behind the scenes. Marian's daughter Heather seems to be quite chummy with the new chef Cruz, but when a handsome new aquatic veterinarian comes to town, Heather has a decision to make.

Jack is on his own hunt to write an article that could unravel a huge money laundering scheme but has to be very careful as he might just be putting not only his own family in danger, it could cause chaos for the entire community of Summer Beach. When secrets are uncovered, how will Marina and her family be affected? Can they still pull off the biggest celebration the town has seen?

Jan Moran brings her readers another delightful, mysterious new story in this fifth book in the Coral Cottage series. I loved visiting with Marina and her family and a few past characters from the previous books. If you are reading this as a stand a lone novel, do not fret as Ms. Moran does an excellent job of filling in the back stories. The whole series including this novel has everything you could want, family, friends, love and intrigue. I am already excited about the next and final book in the series! A huge thank you to Jan Moran for my advanced readers copy which I voluntarily read and reviewed. You are going to love this one friends!

Meet Me at Christmas - Book Review

Stella Fisher is on her way home from London to spend the holidays with her mom. This will be the first Christmas without her dad, and with her sister Lily in Costa Rica, it will be just her and her mom. Stella is a researcher for a magazine called Brain Borders, so she is also going to work on an article over the holidays in the hope she will get promoted.

When Stella arrives at the hospital, the patient she is introduced to is named Henry. Not just any patient, this is the man she grew up with, the man she was once married to, and a man she never forgot. The only thing is, Henry does not remember her after a brain injury he endured while serving in the army. Can Stella keep her feelings aside while researching her article? What will happen when Henry starts remembering small details of his past? Things get even more complicated when Stella’s mom confesses, she is in charge of the annual Christmas parade, a parade her father always organized and has not even started to plan it and now the parade falls in Stella’s hands. How can Stella possibly manage everything in such a short amount of time?

This holiday novel by Jenny Hale is absolutely wonderful. The mix of characters, the topics of losing a loved one, a brain injury and a complicated past, all weave together into a sweet second chance romance. Right from the beginning I fell in love with Stella and Henry and could not put this book down. I enjoyed the depth of the characters, the story line and of course the beauty of the Christmas season. I am so thankful to Harpeth Road Press and the author Jenny Hale for my advanced copy which I read and reviewed voluntarily. A wonderful novel to curl up with this winter.

Sunshine Avenue - Book Review

Junie Raines is ready to move on with her life after losing her husband two years ago. She is living on Crown Island with her grandmother, mother and sister and running the gift shop at the Majestic Hotel after closing her on line business she owned with her husband. It is time to find her own place to live and take the next step in her career. She may even go on a date or two when things settle down. When she places a bid on a dilapidated house across the street from her best friend, things look like they are coming together. When she finds out that the Majestic’s newest employee Knox MacKenzie has also bid on the house, the race is on. Can Junie outbid the handsome, frustrating Knox to get her life back on track or will she be back at square one?

This second novel in the Crown Island series by Jan Moran is everything you could hope for in a small-town series. We have Junie who is trying to start a new chapter in her life, a handsome new man Knox with an adorable six-year-old daughter, a run-down house with an overgrown garden, and family and friends willing to help them both. The characters are so well written, you fall in love with Junie from the very first page. We met Junie in the first novel, Beach View Lane where we were introduced to the Raines family and read April’s story, so I was excited to read this next book in the series. This novel also touches on Maileah’s story, Junie’s sister and I will be anxiously awaiting her journey in Orange Blossom Way, the next novel in the series. My sincere thanks to the author Jan Moran for an advanced copy of the book which I voluntarily read and reviewed. If you like, small beach town series with fascinating characters, this is one you do not want to miss.

Jan Moran is a Wall Street Journal and USA Today bestselling author of heartfelt women’s fiction series, beach reads, family sagas, and romantic 20th-century historical novels. Jan dreams up her popular, small-town contemporary beach books on sunny shores in Southern California, not far from where she lives. Discover more about her at JanMoran.com.

Jan has been an avid traveller throughout her life, so you’ll find her books infused with authentic locales and things she loves to research—from chocolate, wine, and food to history, fashion, and more. Readers often say that along with a heart warming story, they also learn many fascinating details. As a native of Texas who lived on the east coast and worked in Paris, Hong Kong, and Canada, Jan brings a wealth of experience to every book she writes. Pour a cup of tea or a glass of wine, open one of her books, and find yourself transported with characters you’ll soon be rooting for as friends.
