Lovers Lane - Let's Get Sketchy

Howdy Everyone and Happy Monday! I know Monday might mean back to work, but it also might mean the kids are back in school! It might mean housework or paying bills, but maybe it means there is a new sketch up at Let's Get Sketchy! Our fearless designers are at it again!! My favourite part of Monday is seeing what all the gals did with the sketch! This is Nicole and Chris. Another one of those photos from the endless "Mom printed these and hasn't used them yet" photo box. Some are doubles, some I've scrapped before, but I think it's fun sometimes to take the same photo and see what you create this time with it. I had fun with this one. Lots of layers and the new collection from BoBunny called Head Over Heels. I have a mini using this collection coming up this Thursday in a very special blog post! Hope to see you playing along with us at LGS! Have an awesome day everyone.

Thanks so much for stopping by. I love reading your comments and I appreciate your scrappy support! Have a wonderfully happy scrappy day! Lynn

What a Wonderful Day

Morning! Can you believe it's February already? Come on Spring..I'm ready!! Since it's Monday, that means a new sketch reveal is up at Let's Get Sketchy. This is a photo of the hubs and I taking a selfie at the dog park. I know..your thinking I have such an exciting life right? The dog park is the highlight of the week around here, lol. I picked up some new goodies at the scrap store awhile back and thought I should maybe use them up before all the new CHA goodies arrive, lol. This one I kept quite simple, but still had a lot of fun playing with the sketch! Hope you can stop by and play along with us!!

Time Is A Great Storyteller

Happy Monday my friends! How's your day going? Today I'm sharing a project I did for the latest sketch at Let's Get Sketchy. I usually don't scrap 3 photos on a layout, so I turned the sketch on it's side and added some of the cut pieces from the patterned paper. I had these little photos of myself in the infamous "photo box" on my desk, so I decided to use them. I wanted to add a "little" stamping to the background, but as usual got a touch carried away! But hey, at least all those stamps in my stash are getting used!! So I'm off to my next project.. I hope you can stop by and maybe play along with us!!

Smiles Are Free

Happy Monday my friends!! My project today features my little Great Nephew Noah who will be 4 years old in November. He is the sweetest little boy that always makes me laugh. For this layout,  I got to work with this amazing sketch from Tabitha at Let's Get Sketchy. I loved the strips in this sketch and decided to combine some patterned paper and washi tape. I'm really starting to like washi tape, lol.. I had it sitting around in a basket forever, just collecting dust until one day... out it came and now it's a fun thing to add to any project. I even took out the modeling paste and did a little altering to the background. I'm starting to slow down and take my time, but that means more time to think about just that "one more little thing" you want to add, lol.  Someone needs to yell STOP every once in awhile. That's the fun though, just starting with a blank sheet of paper and never knowing what it will turn out like in the end. Happy Scrapping everyone, have an awesome day!

I Can't Stop Smiling

Morning Morning!!! How's everyone's day? Today I'm sharing my layout for the new sketch over at Let's Get Sketchy. Brenshevia designed this fun sketch and as soon as I saw it I knew which photo I wanted to use. Nicole and Jackson (aka Jiggy) are busy taking more selfies, so we know if you send them, I'm going to scrap them, lol. I did a bunch of stamping on this layout and some doodling around the border. I really enjoy finishing up a layout, doing some stamping, stitching, spraying etc. I love to look for little things to add to my project. And thanks to my Cameo, all those little bits and pieces are easy to add. I'm off to check out what the rest of our team created, so I hope to see some familiar faces playing along with our challenge!!  Also... the Let's Get Sketchy magazine is live!! Come by and have a peek..it's fabulous! Here's the link http://letsgetsketchy.blogspot.ca/2013/11/its-time-lgss-first-magazine-publication.html Have a wonderful day my friends... until next time!

Could You Be Any Cuter?

Nicole loves to take "Selfies" with her dog Jackson. Thankfully she sends them all to me!! I love to scrap her photos, they are so fun. Since it's Monday, there is a new sketch up at Let's Get Sketchy by our very own extremely talented Bev Code. I love playing with sketches and this one was no exception. I took a little liberty with this one, a touch of an angle, just one photo, and a "few circles". What can I say, the Cameo got the better of me, lol. If you follow me on facebook, this is the layout that the ink pad dropped on the photo not once, but twice, the cameo wouldn't cut, I couldn't figure out what paper to use and almost gave up!! It was one of "those" days. I hope your all having a creative day today!! See you again soon!!!

Smarty Pants - Let's Get Sketchy

Good Morning Scrappy Friends!!! How's your morning? I just can't believe it's the middle of September already.. where did summer go? We have a fabulous new sketch up at Let's Get Sketchy designed by our very own Jenessa. I had so much fun working with this one.  Ashley was over one day and we were playing in the studio. She was teaching me how to use watercolor pencils. This girl is one talented artist let me tell you. She played with all the mediums, paints and came up with some fabulous new ideas. I had this pair of glasses that someone left at our cabin still hanging around ( still waiting for someone to claim them), anyways, I popped them on Ashley, grabbed the camera and starting shooting. She is use to me, she just smiles and let's me take as many photos as I want. I did mention how much I love this girl right?

Here's the sketch!! Hope you can play along!

Dance Like No One Is Watching

Morning and Happy Monday!!! September?? Really?? Summer is almost over! I'm just not ready for that! Today at Let's Get Sketchy we have a new sketch reveal! Brenshevia just got my creative juices flowing with this one!  I just couldn't resist doing another dance layout of Nicole, since I had the Bo Bunny Anthem collection already on my desk. I'm a little hooked on it at the moment!  She looked amazing, danced so fabulously and I cried the whole time. I'm so proud of this girl for getting back on the floor again. That gorgeous hunk is Anthony her partner. If you ever watched So You Think You Can Dance Canada, he was on of the Top 10! I can't wait for her next competition. I'll remember to bring more kleenex next time, lol. So I'm off to work on another project and I hope to see some of you over at Let's Get Sketchy!

Sun Your Buns - Let's Get Sketchy

Good Morning and Happy August! Is everyone enjoying their summer? This weekend was our long weekend here in Canada, so we had an extra day off to enjoy the beautiful weather! Today is a new reveal at Let's Get Sketchy. Our sketch was done by our Oh So Fabulous Brenshevia. I love working with her sketches. I'm really enjoying the new trend of paper strips. I've been going through my old photos and this one is of Ryan way back in 1993 on a little holiday to Kelowna, B.C. What little boy doesn't love sun and sand! I used some of my Key Lime Collection from Bo Bunny for this one. It's so bright and fun. I'm really enjoying stepping out of my "earthy colour" comfort zone and trying something new. I hope you can pop by and play along with us and Get Your Sketch On!!!

You Make My Heart Smile

Good Morning!! I'm so happy it's finally summer here! Today at Let's Get Sketchy we have another amazing sketch for you! This one is done by our very own Ashley Horton! It was so fun to work with. Since it's summer, I'm always reminded of Nicole's wedding, so I chose a photo of her and I for this layout. Her wedding was a day I will always remember. I not only got to be the Mother of the Bride but I was so honored when she also asked me to be her Matron of Honor. I was so proud to stand by her side when she married Christopher. I had some fun with my Cameo for this layout too. I did the cutting on the patterned paper, then took the negative pieces and glued them back on with the other patterned side of the paper. I wasn't sure how it would turn out.. but I was really happy with the results!! Hope you all having an amazing day and hope you can stop by and play along with us!

Snapshots of our Life

Morning Scrappy Friends!! Happy Monday!! Today is a new sketch reveal up at Let's Get Sketchy. This one was designed by our very own Brenshevia ( who is an absolute sweetheart). I was a little lost on what to do with this one. I never seem to take multiple photos of the same thing, so I wasn't sure what direction to take. I've had this photo of Nicole & I sitting on my desk, and have been wanting to scrap it. Then the lightbulb came on and I off I went in search of my Cameo files. I only had 3 sheets of paper from this collection ( and two were the same), so I had to get creative. I cut out the snapshots file and used the negative letters on my photo. The chevrons that were left behind I used at the top of my layout. Then I had just enough paper left over to try and cut out a few flowers. I used every scrap.. I even fussy cut out the left over butterflies to add in. It was close, but I did it, lol..

Beautiful - Let's Get Sketchy

Morning Morning!! Did you have your coffee yet?? Well, it's Monday, and our wonderful Jenessa has done another amazing sketch for us at  Let's Get Sketchy. When I saw the flowers I knew I had to use this one for the photo I have of my great niece Isla. And then when I found the EP papers in my stash, I thought they matched her little outfit so well, this would be a fun project. I did a little fussy cutting of the flowers since there was this whole sheet of flowers in the collection! I hope your all having a scrap fabulous day and can stop by and play along with us!!

Ride of a Lifetime

Happy Monday!! Hope your weekend was nice and relaxing! Today I'm sharing my layout for the new sketch reveal at Let's Get Sketchy. I loved this one by Ashley Horton, she is such a sweet friend! When I saw the sketch I immediately thought "cutesy".. but then looked for some photos and have had these on my desk for awhile now. Ryan and Ashley went on a quad ride at the lake and came back covered in mud with big smiles on their faces, so I went from cute to grungy, lol. I kept fussing and fussing, something was missing. In the end I decided to just "let it be", lol. Sometimes you just have to do that I think. I was excited to play with some Cameo cuts and try out my stencil that I cut.. now that was fun! Hope you can stop by and play along with us! Now I'm off to see what the other designers did with Ashley's sketch!!!

The Lazy Days of Summer - Let's Get Sketchy

Good Morning and Happy Monday Bloggy Friends!! We have a new sketch reveal up at Let's Get Sketchy today by my sweet friend Brenshevia.  Now this one was a challenge for me. I didn't know where to begin until I pulled out my stash of Authentique papers. After doing a little math to cut out the patterns, I was on my way!!! I wasn't sure what it was going to look like, but I really like the way it came together in the end. I loved this photo of my wet doodles just lazing around last summer, and I thought it worked well with the colors of the papers. I can't wait to see what everyone does with this sketch!! Have a wonderful day!

Sweet Love

Morning!! How's your day? Today at Let's Get Sketchy we have a little different challenge because April has five Mondays.. and when that happens, we have a little fun! Today our challenge is two fold. The first thing we had to do is pick a color palette. Off to Pinterest I went!! The second part is to find a sketch we liked! Well.. my sweet friend Laurie  ( who is also on our design team) had a sketch challenge for her birthday, and it was so cute, I decided that's the one I wanted to use!! Along with some Bo Bunny this came together fairly quickly. I love when that happens! I can't wait to see what the other designers have done! Come on by with me and check them out!

It's A Snap Shot Kind of Day - Let's Get Sketchy

Morning and Happy Monday!!! We had such a fun sketch to work with at Let's Get Sketchy this week. Brenshevia always comes up with such great sketches to work with! I'm trying to take a photo a day and love the idea of them all being stored in a calendar format. I'm not sure I could keep up with scrapping every photo, so I thought I would do an album and scrap the whole calendar once a month! The Mama Razzi2 collection from Bo Bunny was just perfect for this layout, since the theme is all centered around photos! I hope you can join us and play along at Let's Get Sketchy this week! You have all month to play along with our sketches! Have an awesome day everyone!
