Home Sweet Home - ScrapFIT Workout #71

Home Sweet Home. We spend many hours at home, so let's surround ourselves with things we love. This week at ScrapFIT our challenge is to create something for your home. It could be a banner, something to display a photo..anything that you can create with paper! Sounds like fun right? I decided to decorate a giant clothes pin that I've had sitting in my office for the past few months that I've been saving for this project. I think this is the first home decor item I have ever done!!! It was quite a feat. The first time I did it, I glued everything on upside down and had to take it all apart. I was pretty proud of my first attempt at home decor. Now...I'm thinking...what else can I decorate? Come by and join in our workout this week. Our sponsor  for this challenge is Paper Issues.

Thanks so much for stopping by. I love reading your comments and I appreciate your scrappy support! Have a wonderfully happy scrappy day! Lynn

Home - ScrapFit Workout # 70

Do you remember when the hot new way to take photos was the Polaroid?  Well, our workout today at ScrapFIT is a tribute to the Polaroid. Now the fun part is...making your own Polaroid Photo.  Our sponsor for this workout is My Favorite Things. Stop by and join in the fun! I loved this challenge. I did a photo of our "Home Away From Home" , our cabin.  My journaling reads:
Our cabin is our home away from home.
We spend alot of our time there in the summer.
This is a place where we go to relax, to collect our thoughts,
To read, to walk, to enjoy nature and just be ourselves.
You don't need to dress up, old clothes are best.
There are even days you may want to spend the day in your pajamas.
Your going to get dirty riding in the mud, or playing at the beach.
Your going to be so relaxed sitting on the deck drinking your coffee, or sitting by the fire late into the night.
This is our home away from home.

Now stop by and make your own Polaroid, just like the ones below in Sarah's layout or come see what our designers came up for this challenge!

Forever

Our latest challenge #68 is up at ScrapFIT. If you are a regular, you know of our Weekend Warm Up Coach Missy and her love of Misting. Well this challenge is in honor of Missy! I love to mist so out came the bottles of Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist. I was only going to mist a little piece of the background paper, but...ummm...once I started I kept thinking I needed to add "just a little more"..and as you can see, the whole background became misted, lol. I even misted the little envelope! This of course is a photo of my daughter Nicole and her husband Chris on the wedding day. I wanted to keep the layout simple, but I just can't resist flowers!! So my friends..get out the mists, step out of the box and join us over at ScrapFIT!! The sponsor for this challenge is Vicky Alberto and her gorgeous Etsy shop.

This is what life is all about - ScrapFIT workout #66

A few weeks ago we went to the cabin for my birthday. It was Daisy's first time there. It's one acre of fenced pure puppy playground. Millions of pinecones, billions of sticks, and no end of places to play. There wasn't a moment when Daisy didn't have a stick in her mouth. We must have gone for at least 30 walks in four days, lol. What I love about her and what dogs can teach us is to live in the moment. Enjoy each and every minute of every day. No stress, no worry. I call her my therapy dog because I'm learning so much about myself and she is teaching me so many things. This layout I did for our challenge this week at ScrapFIT. Our creative trainer Diana challenged us to use the following color palette to create a project. Join us this week for some fun and great prizes from My Divine Inspiration Etsy Shop.

You are so Loved - ScrapFIT Workout #65

Let's just start with the journaling, lol.  Noah had his very first visit with Daisy.Instantly there was a bond between this sweet little boy and little Daisy Doodle. Noah gave her so many hugs and kisses that day. He even climbed in her dog bed to give her some cuddles. There is just nothing cuter than a little boy and a puppy having some cuddle time. This layout is for the ScrapFIT Workout #65. We had to take inspiration from the photo below, so I chose to work with the Echo Park "This &  That" collection. It was the vintage look that jumped out at me, and the "boy" theme. I used a sketch by Rochelle Spears at Paper Secrets but couldn't enter the challenge, but wanted to thank her just the same!

The sponsor this month is My Divine Inspiration Etsy Shop.

Design Team Reveal - ScrapFit Workout #61

I am so excited to show you my first layout for my Design Team spot at ScrapFit.
Our  #61 challenge this month was called "Blank Canvas". We had to start with a white background and build our layout from there. This is me on my birthday last spring. My husband surprised me with a trip to Banff. We had a gorgeous room, a beautiful dinner out and then he made me a bubble bath complete with candles and relaxing music. How sweet is he? (All of that info is in the hidden journaling tag). It was a memorable weekend. We love to drive up to Lake Minnewanka in all seasons, so it was fun to take photos in the snow. This was such a fun challenge. Make sure to visit ScrapFit to see all the wonderful designers and win some fabulous prizes. Our sponsor this month is K Studio

Supplies: Bo Bunny snowfall Dot, Stripe and Blizzard. BoBunny noteworthy journal pages, Bo Bunny cardstock stickers, Maya Road Time Flies Clock, Creative Impressions Snowflakes, American Crafts Brads, Card Connection Card, Tattered Angels  Glimmer Mist Partridge in a Pear Tree, white cardstock, delta ink. I did take my inspiration from a sketch but forgot to write which site, I'm so sorry.

Et Cetera Mini Album

Today was a cold and snowy day here so what better thing to do than scrap right? I had this line from Bo Bunny and was saving part of it for a mini album. Today was the day. You should see my desk right now...yikes! At Scrap Your Crap the challenge is to use 50% old product and 50% new product. I have old and new in this book. My miscellaneous draw was all over my floor last night, lol.

The photos are all of our trip to Banff last fall. It was such a memorable holiday that I wanted to do an album just for my husband and I to remember our journey together that weekend. I'm entering this at ScrapFit where the challenge is the simple things in life. That's what this album is about...the simple things. Our family has had a rough few years and we went away to reconnect and enjoy the simple things. To let go and just live in the moment. When I saw this challenge I cried remembering our journey. The last page reads:

Enjoy the little things in life.....
for one day you'll look back and realize they were the big things.

At Scrapbookers Anonymous the challenge is the letter "F"....Fall, Flowers, Family, Fiskars, Fabric, Fiber... love this! You can put alot of "F" in a mini album!

Supplies: Bo Bunny Et Cetera  Geography, Stamped, Odds & Ends, Symphony patterned papers, cardstock stickers, K&C Company Life's Journey Grand Adhesions, Prima Flowers,

Love is a Battlefield

When I was a teenager I remember pretending I was in a rock band singing in my parents basement to Pat Benatar. Wild and crazy I know! When I saw workout challenge #60 at Scrap Fit I was hooked. Now I needed a sketch...hmmm. At Colorful Creations they had this awesome sketch. Ok...now the fun part. I needed corrugated cardboard. I go running into the bonus room where the boys are watching a hockey game...I yell "do we have any cardboard". My husband answers..".yup out in the recycle bin but it's raining". Yeah, you think that is going to stop me? A little rain for something I need to do a layout. I run outside, grab the stack, come back in and ask them to rip it for me. They think I'm crazy at this point. Am I? Ok maybe a little...but it's all for the love of scrappin! You all get me right? So I end the evening drinking a mint chocolate latte singing....We are young..   Heartache to heartache we stand..  No promises, no demands...
Love is a battlefield.

Supplies: Scrap Within Reach Georgia Rain Collection, pitter patter, april showers, tin roof.Misc buttons and washers, Tim Holtz distress ink walnut stain, Tattered Angel Glimmer Mist Suede, Creative Imaginations stickers. Cd..homemade.

I Love You in Any Language

Oh yes, another wedding layout, lol. I'm going to have an album done in no time thanks to Bo Bunny and all their challenges. When I found the sticker which says "I love you in any language" it was so fitting for this layout. Christopher's first language is Ukrainian, so when they got married Chris said his vows in his language and Nicole said hers in English. The whole mass was half in Ukrainian and half in English. Even though Nicole didn't understand much, she still knew that Christopher loved her. This layout was for the sketch challenge at Bo Bunny. Of course I have a huge stash of Enchanted and a huge pile of wedding photos, so this was an easy choice of what to use. Thank you Bo Bunny for helping get this wedding album done. I also entered this at  Scrap Our Stash which has a December challenge going on. ScrapFit also has a challenge which I entered about your favourite layout and this is definitely one of my fav's.Love it! Now I should start on the mini album for Nicole right? lol....you guessed it, all in the Enchanted line!

Supplies: Bo Bunny Enchanted Harlequin, Love, Evening, Romance and Rose papers, stamps, Memories Ink, Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist Blitzen and Blackberry Cordial, Tim Holtz Distress Ink Dusty Concord, Prima Resist Canvas, Bridal Bling Butterflies.
