The Christmas Coin by Lindsay Gibson

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Amelia Collins, a professional ballerina had a life altering injury which ended her career. All she has ever known is dance and is at a loss of how to move forward. She has always wanted to live in the country, so when she sees a listing in White Bridge, Connecticut, for a 1870’s farmhouse, she quickly makes an offer.

When she arrives, she feels like she has walked into a movie. The small town is decorated for the holidays and the townsfolk are so welcoming. It isn’t long before she is wrapped up in the holiday festivities. When she accidentally runs into the towns dance teacher, Amelia is soon helping out the students at the dance academy. She also meets one of the student’s father, Ben Walsh and they quickly strike up a friendship. Will their friendship move to the next level? What will happen when Amelia finds out the dance studio has to close? How will the coin that Amelia finds in the farmhouse change their lives?

This was such a lovely novel by Lindsay Gibson. The characters were so well written that you can not help but love them. The small town was described so beautifully that you could just see yourself at the farmhouse and walking through the quaint town of White Bridge. This novel was just the thing to get me into the holiday spirit. My thanks to Harpeth Road Press and the author Lindsay Gibson for my advanced readers copy which I voluntarily read and reviewed. Grab a hot cocoa and curl up with a beautiful Christmas story.

Thank you so much for stopping by the farmhouse. Lynn

Meet Me at Christmas - Book Review

Stella Fisher is on her way home from London to spend the holidays with her mom. This will be the first Christmas without her dad, and with her sister Lily in Costa Rica, it will be just her and her mom. Stella is a researcher for a magazine called Brain Borders, so she is also going to work on an article over the holidays in the hope she will get promoted.

When Stella arrives at the hospital, the patient she is introduced to is named Henry. Not just any patient, this is the man she grew up with, the man she was once married to, and a man she never forgot. The only thing is, Henry does not remember her after a brain injury he endured while serving in the army. Can Stella keep her feelings aside while researching her article? What will happen when Henry starts remembering small details of his past? Things get even more complicated when Stella’s mom confesses, she is in charge of the annual Christmas parade, a parade her father always organized and has not even started to plan it and now the parade falls in Stella’s hands. How can Stella possibly manage everything in such a short amount of time?

This holiday novel by Jenny Hale is absolutely wonderful. The mix of characters, the topics of losing a loved one, a brain injury and a complicated past, all weave together into a sweet second chance romance. Right from the beginning I fell in love with Stella and Henry and could not put this book down. I enjoyed the depth of the characters, the story line and of course the beauty of the Christmas season. I am so thankful to Harpeth Road Press and the author Jenny Hale for my advanced copy which I read and reviewed voluntarily. A wonderful novel to curl up with this winter.

The Christmas Promise - Blog Tour and Review

Charlotte Moore loves her job as head buyer for Wallace Gallery. When Charlotte is given the chance to go to an art auction on her own, she is thrilled at the chance, and on a whim, she bids on the last painting because somewhere deep inside it touches her. Then the panic sets in, what if this piece is worthless? Charlotte is sure this will be the end of her career. Her boss suggests Charlotte go to the coastal town that the painting is set in and find the story behind the piece. This will be the showcase painting of the gallery’s upcoming Christmas gala, so Charlotte is determined to find out everything she can.

When Charlotte arrives in Seabreeze, the small coastal town captures her heart. With Christmas approaching, the town is decked out in lights and Charlotte can feel the Christmas spirit. She is welcomed with open arms into the small inn she is staying at and now all she has to do is solve the mystery of the painting. What Charlotte does not count on is how peaceful she feels in this small town and how Aiden, the innkeeper’s son is stirring up feelings in her. When the mystery starts to unravel, secrets long buried are uncovered and the painting comes to life in this small town.

I absolutely adored this novel by author Lindsay Gibson. It has the warmth of a small town, a mystery and a budding romance. What else could you possibly wish for in a Christmas novel! I loved the characters and enjoyed watching the mystery unfold. My sincere thanks to Harpeth Road Press and the author Lindsay Gibson for my advanced copy which I read and reviewed voluntarily. The Christmas Letters - Book Review

Liz Holloway is back home trying to save her family home from a commercial developer. They want Liz’s mother to vacate the property and Liz will do anything to save their home. With Christmas drawing near, time is running out. With family and friends by her side, Liz takes on the biggest challenge of her life. Will the letters her late grandmother’s best friend gifted her help in finding out what happened so long ago to affect the future of their home?  Will her new friend Paul help her cause, or will he turn out to be the one man that can ruin it all?

Author JennyHale has brought us another heartwarming tale of family and new beginnings. I loved how Liz’s family and friends came together to try and save their home. I just wanted to curl up on that worn sofa along with Liz as she read the letters her grandmother wrote. I was drawn right into all the holiday traditions and could not get enough of the people in Mason’s ridge. Thank you, Jenny and Harpeth Road Publishing for the copy of the book that I voluntarily read and reviewed. A sweet holiday story that will warm your heart this holiday season.

The Island of Summer Sunsets - Harpeth Road Blog Tour

Janie Brooks is a young widow living on Fripp Island enjoying the quiet pace of life. Since losing her husband she lives with order and routine, preferring things stay the same. She lives next door to her mother, and they run a small business together which they both enjoy. Janie also has a passion for conservation, something she and her late husband shared. She will do anything to protect Fripp Island. When Janie is visiting the local grocer, she is forced to meet his nephew who has just moved to the island with his teenage daughter. Janie is flustered and just wants to go home. She has no idea how her life is about to change. Will Janie embrace the new opportunities she will faced with? Can she learn to love again?  What will she do when her piece of the island she is determined to save comes up for sale?

Susan Sands captures small town and second chance romance to perfection. I loved the characters and the challenges they had to face. As readers we get to watch romance blossom slowly, which to me makes the story all that much better. I enjoyed the conservation part of the story and learning about island life. I am so excited to read other books by Susan and am thrilled to find a new author to follow. My thanks to Harpeth Road Press for my advanced copy which I read and voluntarily reviewed. This is the perfect summer escape my friends.

Susan Sands grew up in a real life Southern Footloose town in Northwest Louisiana, complete with her senior class hosting the first ever prom in the history of their tiny public school with half the town chaperoning. Is it any wonder she writes Southern small town stories full of porch swings, fun and romance?

Susan lives in Roswell, Georgia with her husband, Doug, their Labradoodle, Watson, and lots of material for her next book. Her three adult children are in various stages of finishing college and getting off the payroll.

The Holiday Plan - Book Review

Verona Scott, a romance author is done with Valentines Day after a very embarrassing moment and bad break up. This year things will be different because she is taking herself on a vacation to Courtington Castle Hotel for some rest and a quiet place to get her writing back on track. When Verona arrives at the hotel, she is dumbstruck. It is Valentines Day on overdrive with flowers and balloons everywhere she looks. On top of it all is a Love retreat led by a psychotherapist turned motivational speaker, Troy Turner. Grace has one foot out the door but can not resist the perks if she stays that the hotel will give her. Now all she must do is steer clear of Mr. Romance and his retreat. Should be easy right?

Emma Lynden writes a refreshing twist on a fairy-tale romance set in a castle, and I loved it. We have a sassy, hurt, down on love female lead, a perky male who is all about love and romance, and a sweet little girl whom you just can not resist. The story flows effortlessly and the romance blossoms slowly which I love in a book. My thanks to Harpeth Road Press for an advanced readers copy in exchange for my unbiased opinion. I would also like to thank Emma Lynden for an excellent enjoyable five star read.

Growing up, you would've been hard-pressed to spot Emma Lynden without her nose in a book, drawn towards uplifting fiction full of hope and heart, and always imagining stories of her own. Looking back, it was no coincidence that so many heroines in those childhood favorites were aspiring authors. It was then that her someday dream of becoming a writer first took root.

But it wasn't until years later, when a close friend chanced to remark, "I bet you could write a really nice romance", that those long-tucked-away dreams finally found the direction they'd been destined for. After a stretch of late nights, a whole lot of scribbling, and the spark of a holiday surprise, she penned The End on her debut novel... and so this adventure began.

When she's not clicking away at her keyboard, spinning heartwarming stories about family, friendship, and finding true love, you can usually catch Emma soaking up the sunshine (or snowfalls) outdoors, capturing the beauty of everyday life behind her camera lens, or cozily curled up with her first passion - reading - a hot mug of something sweet in one hand and the promise of a happily-ever-after in the other.
