Take Me Home For Christmas by Miranda Liasson

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Mia D’Angelo is going home for Christmas. It has been a long year as she is a third-year pediatric resident and does not get a lot of time off. She also has promised her parents that she will bring her boyfriend Brax along for the holidays. There is just one little problem. Brax and Mia broke up months ago and she did not have the heart to tell her parents as her mom was struggling with a health crisis. The countdown is on and Mia is trying to find a Brax replacement.

When Braxton Hughes finds out Mia need a fake boyfriend for Christmas, he is a little weary. He was dating Mia, but broke it off because he does not do long term relationships. They are still friends, but Braxton can not stand the idea that she will take someone else home, so he offers to go along.

What transpires is a family full of warmth ready to welcome Braxton into their family. How long can Mia and Brax keep up the charade? Will the magic of Christmas find it’s way into their hearts?

MirandaLiasson brings us another heartfelt Christmas novel full of family, small town folks and the hope of love. The novel does touch on the loss of loved ones, but it is so beautifully written into the story that I could not imagine it without.  The characters are so loveable and you can not help but fall in love them all. I was also excited to see that this is the first book in the Doctors of Oak Bluff series, so I am already anxiously awaiting the next book in the series. My sincere thanks to the author Miranda Liasson and Hawthorne House Press for my advanced copy which I read and reviewed voluntarily. Come home for the holidays with Mia and Brax.

The Sweetheart Crush - Book Review

Viv Montgomery left everything behind and moved overseas to pursue her photography dreams. Now she is back home in Blossom Glen having left her dreams behind and is working at a Christmas store where she dreads going to work each day. Just as she thinks life can not throw anything else her way, in the door walks Logan Matthews, her childhood best friend, neighbour and confidant who is now not only hotter than hot, but he is also a best-selling author who Viv has not seen in years. Viv in her elf costume tries to hide but not only runs into Logan, she is now all over his Instagram page. When Logan suggests Viv help him change his aloof image on social media to a more fun and loving one, she has no choice but to help him out. She needs the money to pay back her family for all they helped her with. When these two hearts collide, can they mend not only their friendship but the moment that broke it all apart?

This is such a beautiful story of second chances set in a small town. The characters are well written and the story line is fresh and fun. Although this is the third book in Blossom Glen series, it can be read as a stand a lone novel. I loved Viv and Logan’s story and would like to thank Entangled Publishing for my advanced copy which I voluntarily read and reviewed. The perfect romance to curl up with this fall.

The Summer of Second Chances - Book Review

Darla, an accomplished author and cancer survivor is heading back to Seashell Harbor to tie up a few loose ends. She has just finished a teaching assignment and has accepted a permanent position in California, so she needs to sell her house, and finish a novel she is having a hard time completing. The beach will hopefully give her clarity and inspiration. She is also looking forward to seeing her two best friends. What Darla does not expect when she opens the door to her house is her ex-husband Nick. He was supposed to do a few renovations, not move in. While Darla tries to keep her focus on what she needs to do, it gets tougher and tougher with Nick being there at every turn. She starts to doubt their divorce all those years ago, and her friends are determined to remind her at every turn just how wonderful he is. Darla needs a fresh start, but maybe it is not back in California.

I thoroughly enjoyed this last novel in the Seashell Harbor series by Miranda Liasson. Darla and Nick’s story is one not to miss. It is sweet, tender and fun. I also loved catching up with the previous characters from the first two books. Thank you so much Forever Publishing for my advanced copy which I read and reviewed voluntarily. If you are looking for a small town series, this is one you want to add to your list.

The Sweetheart Fix - Book Review

Juliet Montgomery is back home in Blossom Glen and loves her job as a couple's counselor. The only problem is, how can she give advice when her own love life is in shambles? When her new boss tells Juliet she needs to take a step back for a little while, Juliet is at a crossroads. By chance she is at town hall and gets involved in a meeting with the townsfolk and the mayor. When the mayor Jack Monroe sees how easily Juliet interacts with the residents, he offers her a job. Maybe Juliet can not only help herself and the mayor, but maybe she can change the opinions of the town to finally accept her as a couple's therapist.

Jack Monroe is the mayor and a country boy at heart. He took the job so he could find a way to save his grandmother's house from foreclosure. His only problem is communicating effectively with the town. When Juliet shows up unexpectedly at a town meeting, Jack sees that she could be the answer to all his troubles.

This story by Miranda Liasson is so heartwarming. The characters are well written and have many facets to their lives which enhances the story line. I loved the banter between Juliet and Jack and was excited to see their story evolve. The supporting characters added a new dynamic to the story, and it was nice to see the characters from the first book as well. As this is the second book in the Blossom Glen series, I am looking forward to reading the next book already. My thanks to Entangled Publishing who gifted me a copy of the book, and I am voluntarily leaving a review.

Sea Glass Summer - Book Review

Kit Blakemore has been grieving the loss of her husband, trying to raise her young son alone, and trying to find her way back to living again. She wants to go back to school to secure their future, first though she must sell the fixer upper home her husband bought. The house has been on the market for what seems like forever. Kit is struggling, but when she goes to see the house, she is in for a surprise. Can Kit let the one man who infuriates her help her?

Alex de la Cruz made a promise to his best friend that he would look out for his wife and son if something should ever happen to him. Now that his friend has passed on, Alex has a plan how he can help. He must renovate and help Kit sell the old Victorian relic that her husband bought before he passed. Can Alex keep his long-harboured feelings for Kit aside while he tries to help her?

Miranda Liasson brings us such a sweet story of love lost and new beginnings. All the characters were very well written, and I loved getting to know Kit, Alex and especially Oliver. The struggles the characters faced were written with such depth and dimension, I was drawn right into the small town of Seashell Harbor and the people that lived there. I was gifted an advanced readers copy by Forever Publishing, so my thanks to them. My review is entirely my own. This is an awesome series my friends and a solid five star book.

The Sweetheart Deal - Book Review

Tessa Montgomery has one desire and that is to open her own pastry shop, but she is currently stuck helping her grandmother and mother in the families struggling boulangerie. She can not find a way out until one day Leo Castorini shows up at the bakery with a proposition to save not only his families restaurant, but also Tessa’s family bakery. The only problem is the Montgomery and Castorini families have had a feud for decades, and Tessa is not sure Leo’s plan will work. Can Tessa and Leo fool both families with their plan? Can they bring an end to the feuding families by forging a partnership?

What a fabulous start to the new Blossom Glen series written by Miranda Liasson. I fell in love with Tessa, Leo and their families within the first few pages of the book. The main characters are both witty, stubborn, and love their families. The supporting characters in the book add to the story in such a unique way, especially the parents and grandmother. I enjoy the small town family romances so I am excited to see whose story is next in the series. A huge thanks to Miranda Liasson and Entangled Publishing for my advanced copy in exchange for my honest thoughts.

Coming Home To Seashell Harbor - Book Review

When Hadley returns home after a very public heartbreak looking for some time to relax and reassess her future all while in the comforting arms of her grandmother, that is the last thing she will find. What she does find is her grandmother in the hospital, thinking of retiring and selling Pooch Palace, her dog business to none other than Hadley’s high school crush, Tony aka Cam so he can close the business and build a restaurant. Hadley refuses to let that happen and is ready to battle Tony when her grandmother has an idea that will either bring them closer to together or tear the town apart.

What a fabulous start to a new series by Miranda Liasson. I loved the characters, especially Hadley’s feisty grandmother. The story was about family, second chances, small towns, and rescue animals, all my favourite things wrapped up into one amazing story. The story flowed well, all the main and supporting characters were well written, and I can not wait for the next book in the series. Thank you so much to Forever Publishing and Miranda Liasson for an advanced copy of the book to read and review for my unbiased opinion.
