When Stella
arrives at the hospital, the patient she is introduced to is named Henry. Not
just any patient, this is the man she grew up with, the man she was once
married to, and a man she never forgot. The only thing is, Henry does not
remember her after a brain injury he endured while serving in the army. Can
Stella keep her feelings aside while researching her article? What will happen
when Henry starts remembering small details of his past? Things get even more
complicated when Stella’s mom confesses, she is in charge of the annual
Christmas parade, a parade her father always organized and has not even started
to plan it and now the parade falls in Stella’s hands. How can Stella possibly
manage everything in such a short amount of time?
This holiday
novel by Jenny Hale is absolutely wonderful. The mix of characters, the topics
of losing a loved one, a brain injury and a complicated past, all weave
together into a sweet second chance romance. Right from the beginning I fell in
love with Stella and Henry and could not put this book down. I enjoyed the
depth of the characters, the story line and of course the beauty of the Christmas
season. I am so thankful to Harpeth Road Press and the author Jenny Hale for my
advanced copy which I read and reviewed voluntarily. A wonderful novel to curl
up with this winter.
