It's Sketch Day at Boys Rule

Today there is a new sketch up at Boys Rule that I designed along with a special treat! My sister Charlotte Brochu is Guest Designer this month and she used the sketch. I am taking a little break, so she used the sketch in my place this month! Here is a link to her blog : Scrapsational

School Days & A Free Cut File - Boys Rule

Good Morning! Well it's Friday so TGIF Everyone!! Today I'm sharing another project I did for Boys Rule. I had this small photo of Ryan and I thought it would be perfect for some of the school embellies I had left. A little ripped border, a little stenciling with chalk ink and I was ready to roll. I also created the tickets and title which I have below to share with you all for those school photos I know your ready to scrap! ( Well maybe some of you are already done those).  I hope you enjoy the file and I will have another one for you next month at Boys Rule!

Flash Card Fun - Boys Rule

Good Morning!!  I'm excited to share my latest project today that I did using my latest Boys Rule kit! Do you have little ones just starting pre-school? Maybe you home school? Well I had so many embellishments left in my kit that I decided to make some flash cards! This was such a fun project!

For the cards I took all my leftover patterned paper and cut out 26 cards. For the fronts I used the BoBunny Alphabet Stickers on the Combo Sheet and then the fun began! I took out all my embellies from this kit and from past kits and started gluing, sticking and just having fun. This sure helped me deplete my stash!

For the backs of the cards I took stickers that had words on them and stuck them to the back of the card. I figured, why waste paper, I just had to stick something on the back! Now I just have to find an Octopus and Xylophone sticker and I will be set! Maybe Laura-Lee could include those in the next kit? LOL.

Boys Are The Best - Boys Rule

Good Morning and Happy October!! Did I just say October?? Where did summer go?? I'm not ready for fall yet!! But since it is Oct 1st, that means I have a new sketch up over at Boys Rule and my take on it. Gosh, how long has it been since Ryan has been on a bike. Ohhh I miss those simple days of young children! For this project, I combined a bunch of the different patterned papers for the banners, and then just grabbed some of the embellies from the kit to complete the layout. Easy peasy this one was!! The most fun I had was using the backside of the paperstrip for my top banner.. I thought the saying "Boy Oh Boy" was so cute!! I hope you can come join me over at Boys Rule, I would love to see what you create with the sketch. Until next time....

Let's Hear It for the Boys - Boys Rule

A Good Morning to you all and a Happy Thursday!! Today at Boys Rule I am sharing my latest project with the Sept/Oct kit. Back in Grade 7 Ryan joined Jazz Band. We had such a blast going around the city playing at different venues. This is a photo of him just chilling with his trumpet! Yes, the trumpet.. couldn't have found a quieter instrument now could he?? lol.. I thought the BoBunny patterned paper from the kits was a great background and I wanted to do a collage style layout with the Photo Overlay frames that were in the kit. I'm having such fun playing with all the embellies, can you tell?? Next week I will have a new sketch up at Boys Rule, so until next time......

Our Little Guy

Morning Everyone! Today I'm sharing another project at Boys Rule using the Sept/Oct kit. I remember always looking for boys themed paper and embellies and had such a hard time finding them. I have no clue where Laura-Lee comes up with her product, but she has hit the jackpot again. The background of this layout is from Echo Park and all the embellies are random bits and pieces from the kit. I used Laura's sketch she did for our Sept. sketch challenge, so if you want to play along you have tons of time!! I've been very busy looking through old photos lately trying to go back and scrap some of Ryan from those early years. Ohhh the memories. This one is from 1992! I'm off to play with my kit, so see you all in a few days!!!

School Days - Boys Rule

Good Morning and Happy Monday! Today at Boys Rule I'm sharing my first layout using the Sept/Oct kit. Oh my goodness, there are tons of goodies in this kit. Crate Paper, BoBunny, MME. So many fun papers and elements. I always have such fun pouring all the packs out on my desk and looking at all the goodies. I'm going back and scrapping some of Ryan's earlier photos. This is way back from 1998 when he started kindergarten. I can't believe he was that small, lol.

Lake House Canvas - Boys Rule

Good Morning!! It's my day over at Boys Rule and today I'm sharing a canvas that I made with some of the leftover stickers and paper from the kit. I have a ton of scrappy items all over my studio and it got me thinking that my favourite place to be is out at the cabin, but I don't have any of my art there. Well that's about to change, lol.. I made this for our room out there to remind me what I love about the cabin.  . I have a little video tutorial to share on how it all came together!
My favourite saying on the canvas:
" I just need time in a beautiful place to clear my head"

Happy Bday - Boys Rule

Hi Everyone! I thought I would share a quick project I did for Boys Rule
My sons birthday was July 4th and I had the July/Aug kit spread all over my desk so I thought I would make him up a card. I used all my little leftover pieces and layered them together. My kids always say "Happy Bday".. so I thought it was kind of cool to put that on his card. To finish it off I did some quick stamping to make it look like it was stitched together. In a few days I will be sharing another project I did using up some other scraps from the kit!

My Boy and Free Cut File- Boys Rule

Morning and Happy Monday! Hope everyone had a great weekend!! Today I'm up at Boys Rule with another layout I did with the July/ Aug kit and a free cut file that I designed. This layout came together quite quickly I must say. Once I did the cut on my cameo, I just filled in the squares with some scraps and started playing with some stickers. Lots of fun!! We do have two sketch challenges up for this kit as well, so I hope you can stop by and play along with us! You don't have to have the kit to play along either, we just want you to have some fun!

Click on the photo for the free file!
Note: it was designed for the new version of Silhouette 3!

Joys of Boys - Boys Rule

Howdy!! Hope your all enjoying your day! Today I'm sharing another layout over at Boys Rule with the July/ Aug kit. I had some fun with gesso and stamping on this one. The kit had so many fun papers and elements to play with. What I really love is stepping out of my comfort zone and playing with things like stars which I don't usually use. I'm finding I am playing around more with style and design. This is a photo of Ryan on the lake fishing with dad. Not sure what the pose is, but I thought it was cute, lol. So on to my next project with the kit... wonder what will happen?

Mommys Lil Monster - Boys Rule

Morning!! How is everyone's Friday? Here in Canada we have a long weekend, so it's off to the lake for us! Today at Boys Rule I'm sharing the August sketch I designed and my take on sketch. This was a fun layout to do. If you know me, I usually don't scrap in bright colors but I really liked how this one turned out. The photo is of Ryan when he was about 9 months old. It's fun to get out those old photos and scrap them. I just smiled the whole time playing with that photo and the Our Lil' Monster collection from BoBunny. Hope you can stop by and play along with us this month!

Disney - Boys Rule

Good Morning Scrappy Friends!! Today I'm sharing my project at Boys Rule. The July/Aug kit has so many fun things in it, it was hard to chose what to play with, lol.. I did this layout of Ryan and Chris from their trip to Disneyland. Those boys took such funny photos! I was thinking of a design when I saw Laura's sketch and I decided that it was just perfect for what I had in mind. Every month we have a sketch challenge on the blog, so I hope you can stop by and join us! It's so fun to see friends playing along.

The Best One - Boys Rule

Good Morning! How's your Tuesday? Today I'm sharing my first layout using the July/ August kit for Boys Rule. As usual I spend more time looking at all the goodies than actually scrapping! This photo is from 2006 on a trip we took to the Calgary Zoo with the kids. I had tons of fun with my stamping and splattering on this one. I love the kits because it gives me an opportunity to work with product I might not have noticed. I think this is my first layout I've ever done using Bella Blvd, and I loved it!! So a big thanks to Laura-Lee for giving me new goodies to play with!

It's A Party - Boys Rule

Morning!! This is my last project using the May/June kit at Boys Rule. I thought this was a good way to use up all those bits and pieces from the kit. Oh don't get me wrong, there is still plenty left over, I'm no where near down to my scraps. I think I could do another five layouts with all that is left! I thought though that Noah might like an invite to share with his Grandma when she gets invited to his birthday party!! Maybe, just maybe he will invite me too!!!

Wild Child - Boys Rule And A FREE Cut File

Howdy Scrappy Friends!!! I'm up today at Boys Rule sharing my latest layout using the May/June kit. I usually tend to use muted background for my layouts, but I was loving this circle striped background. I didn't really have a design in mind until I started looking through my cameo files. I came across this circle design I created and then the layout began to take shape. It was pretty fun decorating all those circles I must admit. I hope you enjoy the cut file..if you do please help me get the word out, pin it, share it... I would really appreciate it!! I have more files coming!!

Happier Than A Monster - Boys Rule

Good Morning Scrappy Friends and Happy Sunday! Today I'm sharing a card I made using the May/ June kit from Boys Rule . I just can't help but smile when I look at all that fun patterned paper in the kit. I thought a birthday card for a special little boy was in order! I punched out circles on my star layered paper and tucked the balloons from the Fancy Pants Ephemera pack in the circles with some pop dots for dimension. Don't those little mosters just make you smile?? Thanks for stopping by today and hope you are having a wonderful weekend!

Smile - Boys Rule Sketch

Morning Scrappy Friends!! Today I'm up on the Boys Rule blog with a new layout and a sketch I designed. I love working with the girls there. They challenge me to step out of my comfort zone and now I can design a sketch and make a cut file! Yipeeee, lol. So, back to the layout, lol. I couldn't help but scrap this selfie of Ryan and Jax. Those two are just the best of buddies. The May/ June kit has so many fun chipboard shapes, stickers, wooden embellies... it's crazy how much stuff is in that kit! I always have leftovers. I hope you can stop by and play along with us. You don't need to have the kit to play along! But... you just may win one!!!

Party Animal - Boys Rule

Morning Everyone and Happy Sunday!!! Today I'm sharing my latest project with the May/June kit from Boys Rule. I love that in the kit there are so many different element packs and patterned papers from different manufacturers to play with. I love to layer and cluster so for me anything goes! It all matches and adds some eye candy in the end!! When I saw the title "Party Animal" in the Fancy Pants Ephemera Pack I knew it was just the right saying for this layout of Ryan. He just came home from a week long trip to Mexico with friends. He told me he has tons of great photos for me to scrap!! Do you feel a mini album coming his way??? lol.
