The Magnolia Sisters - Book Review

A sweet small-town romance with a hot firefighter, a sassy little girl, and three half sisters trying to muddle through their father’s estate.

Avery Keller has come to Magnolia, North Carolina to hear the reading of her father’s will, a father whom she has never met and could really care less about. She just wants to get her money and get out of town. What she does not count on are the terms of his will and two half sisters, Carrie, and Meredith that she knows nothing about. Could her life get any more complicated?

Gray Atwell is fire fighter and a divorced dad dedicated to raising his young daughter Violet. He does not need any complications in his life, so when he runs into the sassy sophisticated woman who is staying in his guest house, he knows he should keep his distance, but can he?

Avery and Gray both have failed relationships in their pasts and are afraid to open their hearts again. They decide to be “just friends” but the attraction keeps leading them in a different direction. Avery keeps telling everyone she is just in town for a short time, but the town, her sisters, Gray and sweet little Violet start tugging at her heartstrings, heartstrings she did not even know she had. This may be just the opportunity Avery needs to start over and finally find somewhere to call home.

I absolutely loved this story. It was funny, sassy, sweet and tender. The main characters were so well written, I was drawn into the story from the very first page. I loved how the three sisters were such strong, yet different personalities which added an extra element into the story. Little Violet was just the sweetest character and her relationship with Avery is just too funny, and it made me giggle throughout the book. I am excited to read the next book in the series, The Merriest Magnolia to catch up with the sisters and what the town of Magnolia has in store for Carrie.

Harlequin Blog Tour - Settling An Old Score - Book Review

https://amzn.to/2O7fBNK

Texas Ranger Eli Slater is woken up in the middle of the night when he hears someone on his doorstep. When he opens the door he finds a baby in a car seat and soon after that a car whirls into his driveway and a woman gets out wielding a gun. He comes face to face with his ex girlfriend Ashlyn Darrow. When he convinces Ashlyn to drop the gun, they quickly find themselves in a race against the clock to find out just who wants Ashlyn and Eli dead. Eli has vowed to do anything and everything to keep Ashlyn and her baby Cora safe.

Can this have something to do with a shooting gone wrong from their past? Eli, Ashlyn and local law enforcement, who happen to also be Eli’s brothers don’t waste anytime in trying to get to the bottom of this. There are more than a few suspects and in between more than one shoot out, they are all working round the clock to keep Ashlyn, Eli and Cora safe. Will they figure out who has paid the hired guns before it’s too late?

This was a fast paced novel full of suspense, twists and turns. I loved Delores Fossen’s writing style and even though this was the first book I read in the series, I did not have any problems filling in the back stories of the characters, and I would though like to go back and read the rest of the series. Thank you so much to the author Delores Fossen, Harlequin and NetGalley for an advanced copy of the book to review. It was fabulous! Scroll down for our give-a-way

Jamie Quinn is racing to beat the clock!

Jamie Quinn is a family lawyer living in Hollywood Florida, enjoying her new life and new love with childhood boyfriend Kip Simons. Kip has recently come back home to take a new job as the Director of Broward County Parks and is running into some trouble. Someone is vandalizing the parks leaving messages for Kip and that someone wants him out of the picture. Jamie gets a threatening email with photos attached, and things quickly start heating up. When Jamie and Kip are at a festival, things turn tragic. Is the emailer and the killer the same person? Who wants Kip out of the way so bad that they would turn to murder?

Jamie is at a loss, so she turns to her friend, the infamous Duke, the Private Investigator to help her figure out who is threatening her and Kip. When Duke starts digging, new information is brought to light, and it is a race against the clock to save Kip and Jamie.

What a fabulous continuation of the Jamie Quinn Mystery series. This is the third book but can be read as a stand alone novel as the author Barbara Venkataraman does a fabulous job of catching you up on all the back stories from the previous two books. I do find though, that you will want to read them all, so grab the first two to watch the characters develop. I loved catching up with Jamie, Grace and Duke, and the side story of Jamie’s father. I cannot say enough great things about this series, I am absolutely loving it.
