Starting Over on Sunshine Corner - Book Review

Rebecca Hayes has a busy life raising her daughter and building her career. She has amazing people helping her and she is especially grateful for her best friend Jackson. When Rebecca and Jackson step over the line of friendship, both their lives are about the change. Rebecca is the steady one, the reliable one while Jackson is easy going and does not like commitment. He wants to ride the waves with no attachments. They are complete opposites, but they do say opposites attract. Can Jackson step up to support Rebecca or will he head for the ocean?

Phoebe Mills is one of my new favourite authors. Her series The Sunshine Corner, has been a delight to read. The characters are witty, genuine and heartwarming. I loved Rebecca and Jacksons story of best friends testing the waters of a different kind of relationship. I also enjoyed catching up with the characters of the first too books. Thanks so much to Forever Publishing for the kind gift of the book of which I voluntarily read and reviewed. Stop by Sunshine Corner friends, you will love it.

Thank you so much for stopping by the farmhouse. Lynn

A Wedding on Sunshine Corner - Book Review

Savannah, has been working at the Sunshine Corner preschool and she is about to have her own class. Savannah is also the baby and only girl in her family, living in an apartment over the garage at her parents’ home. People think she is spoiled and can not handle anything on her own and she is out to prove them wrong. When Savannah is asked to plan her best friends wedding, she can not believe that she must do it with Noah, her brothers’ best friend. He is the one person that rubs Savannah the wrong way, and it does not help that his daughter is also in her preschool class. What will happen when the two of them are forced to spend time together? Can they put their differences aside and plan a dream wedding for their best friends?

Noah would do anything for his best friend and that includes having to spend time with his friend’s little sister, the torn in his side. He is already taxed to the max with his job and trying to raise his daughter and this is one more complication he does not need. His sweet daughter Rosie seems to love Savannah, and maybe Noah is not seeing the whole picture. Does he have what it takes to help plan the wedding?

I loved the “House on Sunshine Corner”, the first book in Phoebe Mills series, so I was thrilled to start reading the second book. I enjoyed getting to know Savannah and Noah while getting reacquainted with characters from the first novel. It is such a charming story, full of family, friends and small-town living. The characters were well written, especially Rosie, who just melted my heart. I look forward to seeing what Ms. Mills has in store for us with her next book. Forever Publishing, Netgalley and author Poebe Mills have my thanks for my advanced readers copy that I read and reviewed in exchange for my honest thoughts and opinions. A fabulous five star read friends.

The House on Sunshine Corner - Book Review

Abby Engel owns the Sunshine Corner daycare with her grandmother and loves working with her girlfriends every day taking care of the children in the small town she grew up in. The only thing missing from her life is a husband and family of her own, but she has already dated all the eligible men in town, and now she is out of options. When she runs into her high school crush Carter Hayes who is in town to help his sister, she must decide if a short-term fling is going to ease her longing for a family. She just can not give her heart again to the one man who broke it. Will Abby be able to move on once Carter leaves town?

This debut novel by Phoebe Mills was fabulous. I loved the characters and enjoyed getting to know all the ladies of Sunshine Corner. The novel was witty, funny, sweet and I really enjoyed Abby and Carters journey. Abby’s grandmother was such a great addition to the story and had me giggling more than once with her antics.  I am already looking forward to the next story in the series to see which characters story is told next. Many thanks to Forever ( Grand Central) Publishing, Phoebe Mills and Netgalley for an advanced copy of the book. I voluntarily read and reviewed the book and all thoughts and opinions are my own.
