Christmas in Chestnut Ridge - Book Review

Sheila is invited to the small town of Chestnut Ridge for the holidays. Her best friend Natalie has convinced her to come and stay and take part in the annual Christmas Tree Stroll. Sheila is a little hesitant, never really understanding how Natalie loves living in this small town when Sheila is definitely a city girl.

When Sheila arrives in town she is welcomed with open arms by the town. She is just getting settled when she literally runs into fire captain Tucker. She remembers him from her last visit, but she must have forgot just how handsome he was. The two quickly become friends and start to celebrate the meaning of the season by helping a family displaced by a fire. Sheila is starting to finally see what keeps Natalie in this small town. How will Sheila do when the holidays are over and she must had back to her life in the city?

This novel by Nancy Naigle is a fabulous Christmas story. It wrapped me in the holiday spirit by following the characters as they prepared for the holidays. I was so excited to see what happened at the Christmas Tree Stroll I could not stop reading. The characters are so well written and Nancy immerses you in the story by her amazing writing style. My thanks to the author and to St. Martin’s Press for my advanced copy which I read and reviewed voluntarily. Grab your hot cocoa and snuggle up with this wonderful Christmas novel.

And Then There Was You - Book Review

Natalie Maynard who was widowed way too young is heading to Chestnut Ridge, to a small hunting cabin, the only thing she has left. Natalie is still reeling from being taken advantage of by a con artist that left her with nothing. The only hope she has is Detective Randy Fellowes who is determined to help her and solve her case.

When Natalie arrives in Chestnut Ridge she is welcomed whole heartedly by the town who remembers her husband fondly. She is soon embracing her new life and new friends. Trying to find her purpose she soon finds a volunteer job helping seniors and has no clue how that will impact her future. A new life, new hope and maybe even a new romance are in store for Natalie.

I loved the start to Nancy Naigle's new series based in Chestnut Ridge. The main characters quickly embrace your heart and the supporting characters in the town are so lovely you will want to pack your bags and find your own cabin in the woods. This is a clean beautiful story of renewal, hope and love. My sincere thanks to St. Martin’s Press for my advanced copy which I voluntarily read and reviewed. A solid five star read friends!

The Wedding Ranch - Book Review

Lorri Walker and her mastiff puppy named Mister are starting a new chapter in their lives. After an unsettling divorce, Lorri decides to move from the city to a small suburb in the country. She works from home, so this is the perfect place to begin her new life. Lorri is meeting friends and after being saved by a handsome stranger at the fair, things are really starting to look up. Lorri is not sure she is ready for a new relationship, but it is hard to resist Ryder Bolts charms. When a long-ago tragedy resurfaces, both Lorri and Ryder will have to make a choice to stay buried in the past alone or face the future together.

I adored this novel by Nancy Naigle. She is a fabulous writer and one of my favourite authors. She took a serious subject and wove it brilliantly into the story of second chances. I loved how the characters evolved throughout the story, teaching us about forgiveness and moving forward after sorrow. I would love to see a second book if this is going to be a series as there are quite a few characters that have their own story to share. Thank you to St. Martin’s Press who has gifted me a copy of the book and I am voluntarily leaving a review. A beautiful story and one adorable puppy friends.

What Remains True - Book Review

Merry Anna Foster is a newly divorced woman on a mission. The mission is to prove to her free loading ex husband that she can live on the alimony she is giving him for three months. After that, he must move on and accept the terms of their divorce. She is blissfully happy living in the small town of Antler Creek working in a small boutique shop after taking a leave of absence from her corporate job in the city. Life in a small town is simpler and she is making friends and settling in. When she meets her new neighbour Adam and his five-year-old daughter Zan, her life takes an unexpected turn. Will Merry Anna leave Antler Creek or will she stay?

I adored this novel by Nancy Naigle. She gives us a feisty female, a stand-offish handsome man and an adorable little girl as the main characters and they are all so well written. The supporting characters also add so much to an already wonderful story. Many thanks to Nancy Naigle, WaterBrook & Multnomah Publishing and Netgalley for providing me with gifted copy of the book to read and review in exchange for my honest opinion. This book just makes you want to pack your bags and move to Antler Creek my friends.

USA Today bestselling author Nancy Naigle whips up small-town love stories with a whole lot of heart. She began her popular contemporary romance series, Adams Grove while juggling a successful career in finance and life on a seventy-six-acre farm. Over twenty-five novels later, Nancy is a Romance Writers of America and ACFW Honor Roll author. Her books have been translated into multiple languages and received favorable reviews from major trade journals. Nancy's latest release, THE SHELL COLLECTOR, is a touching novel of a friendship that crosses generations, and learning how even the smallest gifts can change a life for good.

Crown Media has adapted several of Nancy's novels for Hallmark Channel, and Nancy novelized three Hallmark Original Movies set in the town of Evergreen. Hallmark fans may have recently enjoyed The Secret Ingredient and new in 2021 Sand Dollar Cove in the Summer Nights programming-both inspired by her novels.

Now happily retired from a career in the financial industry, this Virginia girl devotes her time to writing, antiquing, and horseback riding with friends.

Christmas in Evergreen - Book Review

Christmas in Evergreen, Tidings of Joy by Nancy Naigle

Katie Connell is on her way to Evergreen, Vermont to hopefully get some inspiration for her next novel. When she meets a resident of the town, Ben on the train, and then arrives in town, she expresses her doubt that the town can be as wonderful as it. The more she sees, the more doubtful she is. Can people really be this wonderful? Is this town only a great marketing ploy?

Ben suggests that Katie immerse herself in the town’s festivities following up to Christmas to prove to her that Evergreen is all about Christmas, family, friends, and love.  When Katie hears about a Christmas time capsule, she becomes intrigued. As she works to solve the mystery and gets to know the people in town, will Katie realize that this small town is exactly what it appears to be?

One of the attractions of the town is a treasured snow globe which is told to grant wishes. When the globe is broken, it helps Katie with the time capsule along with a possible love interest for one of the towns residents. There can never be too many love stories unfolding in this small town.

This was such a beautiful heartwarming Christmas story. I loved the character development and all the supporting characters in the book. The added mystery of a time capsule hidden in town added a fun little twist to the story. When I found out there were also three Hallmark movies that were based on the books, I quickly found those to watch as well. It was fun to watch the characters brought to life in a movie. The book can be read as a stand a lone novel, but as you fall in love with Evergreen you will want to read the entire series. Thank you so much to the author, Nancy Naigle, Hallmark Publishing and NetGalley for an advanced copy of the book to review. It was wonderful! All opinions expressed for this review are unbiased and entirely my own.

Book Review: Christmas Angels

https://amzn.to/2MgB8Dq

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Liz Westmoreland spent her childhood visiting her grandparents in Antler Creek at an inn the owned called Angels Rest. Since her grandparents passing, Liz has dreamed of one day owning an inn and getting away from the hustle and bustle of city life. One day while surfing the net, Liz comes across the inn her grandparents owned and it’s going up on auction the very next day! She takes the plunge and is ready to start a new life.

Matt Hardy is back in Antler Creek having lunch when in walks a beautiful girl whom he fell in love with years ago while fly fishing at Angels Rest. Can she be the girl he once vowed to marry? Will she recognize him?

Liz and Matt reconnect and he is now her contractor trying to get Angel’s Rest back in working order. After a minor setback Liz is wondering if she took on too much too soon, while Matt is hatching a plan to show Liz she is exactly where she needs to be.

This story is so beautifully written by Nancy Naigle. It’s a cozy, feel good, heartwarming romance. I loved the characters of both Liz and Matt, along with all the supporting characters in the book. I curled up and couldn’t put the book down, it just makes you feel so good and you get lost in the story and the community of Antler Creek. Thank you so much to St. Martin’s Press, Nancy Naigle and NetGalley for an advanced copy of the book to review. I absolutely adored it.

Thanks so much for stopping by. I love reading your comments and I appreciate your support! Have a wonderful day! Lynn
