Christmas on Reindeer Road - Book Review

Mallory Maitland is back home along with her two disgruntled stepsons trying to start a new life. She is hoping for a Christmas miracle to bring her family closer together, but what she isn’t counting on is the new Police Chief Gabriel Buchanan having to watch her every move along with social services to see if she is fit to be the boys mother. Will she be able to pull of her Christmas miracle?

Gabriel Buchanan is a widower and a single dad of three young boys. He is battling his own custody issues with his in laws and does not need the extra job of checking in on his new neighbor Mallory and her stepsons. Christmas is coming and he is dreading the season even though his youngest son has a Christmas wish of finding a new mother and wife for Gabe. Will Teddy’s wish come true?

Mallory and Gabe can not deny the attraction they feel for each other even though both of their lives are beyond complicated. They forge a friendship and start spending more time together along with all their boys. Little Teddy will not give up wishing and hoping that they can become one big family before Christmas. With in laws and the town folk all getting involved, it starts looking like their Christmas miracle is not going to happen, but with Christmas there is always hope!

I absolutely adored this small-town romance by Debbie Mason. The main characters were so beautifully written, and you can not help but wish right along with Teddy for a Christmas miracle. The supporting characters were all so engaging as well with all their unique personalities. This is the second book in the Highland Falls series, but Debbie Mason did an excellent job of filling in the back stories, so you did not feel lost at all. I would though love to go back and read the first book Summer on Honeysuckle Ridge. Thank you so much to the author  Debbie Mason, Forever, Grand Central Publishing and NetGalley for an advanced copy of the book to review. It was fabulous! All opinions expressed for this review are unbiased and entirely my own.

Debbie Mason is the USA Today and Publishers Weekly bestselling author of the Christmas, Colorado series and the Harmony Harbor series. The first book in her Christmas, Colorado series, "The Trouble with Christmas," was the inspiration for Hallmark's "Welcome to Christmas." Her books have been praised by RT Book Reviews for their "likable characters, clever dialogue, and juicy plots." When Debbie isn't writing, she enjoys spending time with her family in Ottawa, Canada.
