When Ivy Bay
discovers that her late husband spent all of their retirement savings on a house
in Summer Beach, the house that made have to to sell everything she owned to
pay the taxes on it, Ivy and her sister Shelly decided to take a trip and see
this house for themselves and try and figure out why nobody wants to buy it
from her.
Ivy and
Shelly arrive in Summer Beach and Bennett Dylan her realtor meets them at the
house. This is the same Bennett who Ivy had a crush on as a teen. All she wants
is to get this house sold and get on with her life. When she steps inside the
house, something happens, and Ivy is mesmerized by the history inside and makes
the decision to take It off the market and live in it with her sister.
Ivy needs
the house to make some income, so they decide it should become and inn, although
the neighbors and the zoning committee think differently. How can Ivy and
Shelly change their minds? Will Bennett who is also the Mayor, help or will he
just continue to be a torn in Ivy’s side?
As Ivy and
Shelly start cleaning out the house, hidden secrets start coming to life and
the ladies find themselves in the middle of the mysteries of this historical
home. Ivy and Bennett keep running into each other and soon find out those
feelings from when they were teens are now coming to the surface. Can Ivy save
her new home and try to find love again?
This was
such a beautiful story and I absolutely loved Jan Moran’s writing style. I adored
the main characters and all the supporting characters of Ivy’s family and
neighbors in Summer Beach. Before I was even on chapter 2, I was buying the
next books in the series. I cannot wait to find out what happens with Ivy and
Bennett and also if Shelly gets a new love interest.
Thank you so much for stopping by the farmhouse. Lynn
