Snuggle - Frosted Designs

It's Tuesday!!! I hope everyone is having a fabulous day!  It's a great day here because there is a new sketch challenge up at Frosted Designs. It's so much fun to do the sketches and then see what the other designers and our challenge friends do too. For this one I just had to do the photo of Ryan and Jax having a nap. Ryan was so tired after a weekend camping trip that he didn't even notice one very wet doodle had climbed up beside him for a nap. He just moved over and kept on sleeping. Nothing cuter than a boy and his dog!

Play Hard - Frosted Designs

It's Tuesday, so that means another sketch reveal at Frosted Designs! When I saw this one I knew it would be perfect for a little boy photo. And what's cuter than a little boy and a puppy. Everyone came over for a BBQ on Mother's Day and Noah and the puppies had fun picking up sticks and playing in the water. Such a warm beautiful day to play outside. I hope some of you can stop by and join in our challenge. Come drop by and see what our designers did with the sketch, they amaze me every time!

The "little things' are not so little after all - Frosted Designs

It's Tuesday..and that means another sketch reveal at Frosted Designs. I took the two page sketch and made it into a single page layout. That's what I love, it's how you interpret the sketch. I usually try to stick pretty close to the original, but this one I wanted to try something a little different. I'm excited to see what everyone does for this one. I just had to scrap the pics of the puppies on Mothers Day playing in the sprinkler. They thought it was the funnest thing ever. We just sat on the deck an laughed. We had two soaking wet Doodles! They would dry off, and just run right back in the water. It was the highlight of my day!

Frosted Designs Blog Hop - My Scrap Room

Welcome to the Frosted Designs Crafting Space Blog Hop!!! If you came from Anita's then you are in the right spot! She is one amazingly talented artist, so I'm sure you have a great time visiting her blog!

Now here is a tour of my craft space.....

My room is our den at the front of our house. It's nice because I have
a lot of natural light.
I've hung curtain rods on the wall to display some of my favourite layouts and I love to have shelves
full of the nick nacks that hold special memories for me.
I love the new shelves I got from Costco with the canvas baskets!

I collect pigs, so around my craft space are pigs of every size and shape.
I labeled all the baskets using "Word"
My table looks out over our front veranda, so plenty of natural light
I love flower pots, so I store all my scissors, pens, and distress tools in them
I always have a least one puppy under my desk, so they have a little bed under the table.
Now this is what it looks like on any given morning when I'm working on a project.

Thanks for stopping by and letting me share my crafting space with you. The next stop on your hop is Lori .Let's pop on over and see what her crafting space looks like! Make sure at the end you remember to stop back at Frosted Designs to be eligible for the prize! If you've lost your way here is the line up!

Masks & Stencils Tutorial - Frosted Designs

This is my first ever tutorial I've done!! It's posted this morning at Frosted Designs! It took me a long time to decide what to do a tutorial on...so I picked my favorite thing...ink, mist and stain!!!! So here it is....

Good Morning fellow scrappers! Today I want to share a tutorial on masks and stencils. I had bought quite of few of these and it took me quite awhile to figure out what to do with them. After playing around I found I could mist them, ink them, or use a distress stain dauber! This is just too much fun! I'm going to show you all of the stencils on white cardstock just so you can see it a little more clearly. So here we go.....
To start you just lay your stencil on the paper and spray away! I usually have spray everywhere but you also can protect the areas you don't want sprayed with scrap paper.

And here is what it looks like after you finish. It's great to use them for backgrounds on plain cardstock too!
For this chicken wire stencil I used Distress Stain. You just daub away and you don't need to use much!
Here is what the finished product looks like! Try it on patterned paper or use paper towel to take some of the stain off to give it a muted look.
Now this mask I have had for a long time and was scared to use it. But out comes the spray mist and it's just so easy to create a border on your paper.
Voila! Great for cards, borders or backgrounds!
My all time favorite thing to do with mists, inks or stains is to color flowers!! I buy the big packs of white flowers and just change up the colors to match any paper I'm using! You can even use the flower as a mask on your background. So have fun playing with the mists, inks, and stains that you have on your desk!!  And my last tip of the day....Baby Wipes are the perfect tool for cleaning up your desk and your stencils!! Enjoy your day and have fun scrapping!

Frosted Designs - Cherish

For our Frosted Designs Sketch Along Tuesday Challenge I decided to use a photo of Nicole and I on her wedding day. This is a photo I haven't scrapped yet. I was saving it for a special layout and this was it. One night Nicole came and sat by me in my studio and said she had a question to ask me. She asked if I would be her Matron of Honor at her wedding. I was stunned. I quickly asked if she wanted someone skinnier, younger, a friend maybe?? She looked at me and said "Mom, there is no one that I want standing by my side when I marry Christopher but you, you are my best friend". That was the biggest compliment I could have ever gotten. I proudly stood by her on her wedding day with tears in my eyes and a smile on my face. I love my girl and she truly is my best friend.

This is the amazing sketch we got to play with this week!!! Stop by my friends and join us at Frosted Designs

Frosted Designs -Tried & True Cousins

This layout is the first one I did as a new design team member at Frosted Designs. The sketches are so fabulous! This one is by the oh so talented Marina Muller-Alberring. Our sponsor this month is Apron Strings! Come by, join in the fun and have a chance to win some awesome prizes!

This layout has a fun story. My son Ryan has always been known as "Baby Ryan" to his cousins. They were all little mothers to him since they were five years old when he was born. The things they did to that poor boy!  He's had his nails painted, been in a dress, and played Barbies with the girls. He is the only grandson in the family. Well...if you look at the photo.."Baby Ryan" isn't so small anymore! These cousins grew up more like siblings..and they truly are cousins and friends!

Here is the sketch that we got to work with:
