A Promise of Forever - Book Review

⭐⭐⭐⭐

Terri Rhodes has no idea how to fix her marriage. Everything was fine until it wasn’t. Her husband Jon is a lawyer who works long hours and Terri is an ER nurse who works just as many. They have let their commitment to their marriage slip. Now Terri sees only one way out, and that is to leave for awhile. This will either help or hinder their marriage. How hard are they both willing to work to restore their happily ever after? Will the supper club friends be able to offer any advice?

This novel by Sheryl Lister was such a good read. I loved the characters and being married for a long time, I was routing for them from the beginning. I thought the book brought a tender subject to light and I actually gained a few marriage tips along the way. It was also great to catch up with the other supper club characters and as usual I loved the banter between them all. My thanks to the author Sheryl Lister and Forever, Grand Central Publishing for my advanced copy which I read and review voluntarily. A great beach read for the summer.

Thank you so much for stopping by the farmhouse. Lynn

A Perfect Pairing - Book Review

Natasha Baldwin has always had a passion for interior design, but until her business takes off, she is a realtor in her hometown of Firefly Lake. She loves her life and being close to her best friends. When she is approached to sell a house that she has fond memories of, she wishes she could buy it herself but settles for helping to fix it up and find the perfect family. Everything is on course until her ex comes back to town. Not only is he staying, he now is running the only contractor company in town. How is Natasha going to keep her cool and her feelings to herself when he is the only man she has ever loved?

Antonio is back in Firefly Lake and is at a crossroads. He has spent years in finance and needs a break. When an old family friend offers him his construction company, Antonio quickly accepts as building things has always been his passion. When he finds out he will be working along side Natasha, things get complicated quickly. Can he keep their relationship strictly business or will his feelings for her ruin it all?

I adored this novel by Sheryl Lister and loved Natasha’s and Antonio’s story. It was also fun to revisit the characters from the first novel in the series, A Table for Two. I would love to join them for their supper club dinners and hang out with them all. The story is fun, full of small town antics, friendship and second chances. My thanks to Forever Publishing for my advanced copy which I voluntarily read and reviewed. If you are looking for a sweet small town romance series, this is the one for you.

A Table For Two - Book Review

Serenity Wheeler loves to cook so much that she invented a Supper Club for her friends. They share their hopes and dreams, and even a few laughs as they gather at Serenity’s for dinner. When one of her friends moves for a job, her brother Gabriel moves into her house. When she suggests that Serenity be his welcoming committee, she knows that with Serenity’s kind heart he will be well taken care of.

Gabriel has moved to Firefly Lake temporarily until he can convince his grandmother to move back to the city with him. His life is not suited to a small town and he has no intention of staying. That is until he meets the irresistible neighbor Serenity who leaves him tongue tied at every encounter.

If you love a fun, heartwarming, small town romance with a lot of amazing food thrown in, then this is just the book you have been looking for. All of the characters and supporting characters are so loveable you will be begging for an invitation to the Supper Club. Sheryl Listers writing draws you right into the story and just keeps you wanting more. I really hope this becomes a series as the friends of both Serenity and Gabriel hint at having their own stories to tell. My thanks to Forever Publishing for my advanced readers copy. All opinions are mine and totally unbiased.
