The Wrangler's Ready Made Family - Book Review

Susie is not sure this was her best idea as she is traveling in a stagecoach, pregnant and with a small child. When the stagecoach has an accident, the most unlikely person steps up to help her and her family.

Gil thinks he can do one last good deed before he dies when he steps up to help Susie and her family. Little do Susie and Gil know, this one little accident may be just what they needed.

What a sweet story by Lacy Williams. A stranded heroine, a cantankerous hero and adorable children all make for one beautiful story about forgiveness and how the most unlikely people can fall in love. Although this was book is part of the Wild Wyoming Hearts series, it can be read as a stand alone novel as Ms. Williams does an excellent job of filling in the backstory when necessary. My thanks to Lacy Williams for a complimentary copy of the book to read and review.

Much Ado about Josie - Book Review

Josie is missing her sister Juliet but is kept busy running her Aunt and Uncles hotel and looking after Rosie, an orphaned girl that is living with the family. What Josie really wants to do is be a photographer and is trying to convince her Aunt to let her go on a trip into the mountains. When Josie comes across two brothers, one who is seriously injured, she has no idea how her life is going to change.

Mack is a surveyor who likes his nomad lifestyle just fine. When his brother gets injured, he must find help immediately. Everyone suggests he finds Josie, and when he does find her, he gets more than he bargained for.

Mack, Josie and Rosie head out on an adventure that will change their lives. They will all find just what they did not even realize they needed.

I absolutely adored this novel by Lacy Williams. I loved Josie bright sunny disposition sparring with Mack throughout the book and how their characters developed.  Rosie added so much joy and fun into the story as well. This novel had everything I love, fun scenes that made me giggle, a sassy female lead character, and a happily ever after. Thank you so much to Lacy Williams for an advanced readers copy in exchange for my honest review.

Winning the Schoolmarm - Book Review

Winning the Schoolmarm by Lacy Williams

Cecilia White has just arrived in a new town for a new beginning. Leaving rumors behind she is ready for a new start. She vows to keep her head focused on her teaching position and not the charming chairman of the school board.

John Morgan is the most eligible bachelor in town and seems to be the town hero. What soon comes to light is the secret that John is hiding from the town folk. What will happen when his secret comes to light?

What a charming story set in a small town of long ago. Stagecoaches and a one room schoolhouse adorn this picturesque town. I loved the character development and the storyline of forgiveness and trust. I have not read any previous books in the series, but I do think I will go back and start from the beginning as I enjoyed this one so much. A huge thank you to the author Lacy Williams for an advanced copy of the book to read and review, it was delightful. All opinions expressed for this review are unbiased and entirely my own.

Cowgirl Next Door - Book Review

Jilly has beaten cancer and now she has taken on the task of being a foster mother to three small children. They can be trying at times, but Jilly is committed to giving them structure, love and a home. Things are starting to settle when she gets a call about how her children are tormenting her new neighbor.

Noah has been living in isolation since a tragic accident left him blind years ago. He is fine being alone and only communicating with his assistant who works remote and his mother. When his new neighbors’ children start ringing his doorbell non stop, he has no choice but to report them. Why can’t the neighbors control their children?

When Jilly finds out what her children have done, she rounds them up and makes them go apologize. The stubborn neighbor wants nothing to do with her or her children. When he finally opens the door, Jilly comes face to face with her childhood rival, a man whom she thought was in her past. This is just what she needs, a stubborn recluse who does not like her or her children.

Jilly and Noah struggle to become friends, but soon the children start growing on him when they are fixing the damage they did to his home. As they work on their friendship, both Noah and Jilly start opening up about their pasts and find they have quite a lot in common. Noah starts to realize just how lonely he is and Jilly wonders if she is ready to trust someone again. With the help of three mischievous children, they become friends and maybe there is a spark that they both can’t resist.

I absolutely love Lacy Williams writing style. She has a way to bring the reader right into the heart of the story. What I really loved was how she had the characters from the previous two novels play supporting roles in the story. Lacy also does a great job in filling in the back story, so if this is the first book you have read, you can easily catch up. But….and there is a but….the first two novels are ones you don’t want to miss, so grab a copy of  “His Small Town Girl” and “Secondhand Cowboy” as well. This series is heartwarming and all about second chances at love.

Secondhand Cowboy - Book Review

https://amzn.to/3iiTW2X

Iris has come home to Sutter’s Hollow after she suffered a back injury and had to give up her career as a dancer. She now lives on her family’s farm and is looking after her sister Jilly who is going through cancer treatments. They had to sell part of their farm to pay the bills, and she is wondering who their new neighbor will be.

Callum has returned to Sutter’s Hollow to raise his twin boys. He has bought part of farm as revenge against a man whole he believes stole his future when he was a teenager. He has no idea that his teenage love Iris is now going to be his next door neighbor and he has bought part of her farm, not her uncles as he has passed. When he arrives in town, things start to turn sideways.

Iris can not believe that Callum has come back to town. When she is witness to his accident, she suddenly finds herself vowing to help him and his twin boys. All the memories of their young love come rushing to the surface once again, memories she thought she put behind her.

Callum has never forgotten or stopped loving her, but will she ever forgive him for his sins of the past? Will she believe him when he tells her the truth of why he left that faithful night so long ago? This time will standing together instead of running away be the answer?

I absolutely loved this story of loss, love and family. Lacy Williams is one of my favourite authors and is a brilliant writer. She weaves the story so you cannot help but fall in love with the twin boys and you sit and hope that the two main characters can reconcile against the odds. It was also nice to catch up with the characters from the first book in the series, “His Small Town Girl”, but this book can be read as a stand a lone novel.
