Falling For Alaska - Book Review

Welcome to Moose Falls Alaska. True Everett has lived in this small Alaskan town her whole life. After losing her parents in a tragic accident, True’s whole life changed. She is now raising her young brother and managing Northern Exposure, the towns restaurant and pub. She loves her life and is hoping to one day own the pub. When her dear elderly friend and mentor Hattie becomes terminally ill, she summons her three grandsons back home to Moose Falls. When they arrive True’s whole world is about to change.

Exavier Stone has not been back to Moose Falls since he was a child, when his mother took him and his two brothers, leaving their father to make a new life. When his grandmother asks if Exavier and his brothers to come work and live in town learning to run her Cider Company so they can inherit it when she passes, they are quite hesitant. Since his NFL career is over, he feels he has no choice but to accept her offer. When he arrives the first person, he meets is True, and they get off to a rocky start. Soon things shift and they become friends. Will Exavier and True find what they have both been looking for in this small Alaskan town?

This novel is the first in a new series for Belle Calhoune. She brings together family and friends in a small town in her own unique way of telling a wonderful story. I love the characters and especially Hattie who is just too much fun. I look forward to reading the next book in the series to see if the other two brothers can find love in Alaska. Thank you to the author, Forever ( Grand Central Publishing) and Netgalley for my advanced readers copy which I read and reviewed voluntarily. Come meet the wonderful folks of Moose Falls, you will love them.

Falling in Love on Sweetwater Lane - Book Review

Harlow Jones is a veterinarian and has come to Mistletoe Maine for one reason and one reason only. To pay off her student debts as quickly as she can so she can return to her life in Seattle. Things are going according to plan until Harlow finds herself immersed in small town living and the lives of its residents, especially Nick Keegan and his adorable son. Harlow keeps reminding herself to stick with her goal, but it becomes harder each day to focus on the real reason she is in town. Nick is determined to show Harlow she can have it all, but will he succeed before it’s too late?

Belle Calhoune brings us another delightful contemporary romance in the Mistletoe Maine series with Harlow and Nicks story. The book is about new beginnings, loss and second chances. I loved the characters right from the beginning of the story and could not resist cheering for Harlow and Nick to end up together. Who doesn’t like a happily ever after! Forever Publishing so graciously gifted me a copy of the book, which I read and reviewed voluntarily, so thank you Forever. Friends, come stop by Mistletoe Maine and meet some new wonderful friends.

Summer on Blackberry Beach - Book Review

Stella Marshall is ready for summer vacation after teaching all year in Mistletoe, Maine. Sun, sand and sleeping in are the only things on her agenda. That is until Luke Keegan shows up in town. She has had a crush on him since high school but vows to keep him in the friendzone as she is not looking for a relationship. When the towns gossip mill starts up, Stella and Luke see that maybe having a fake romance will keep their family and friends who are playing matchmakers at bay. Can they keep up the façade without becoming a real couple when they start spending more time together?

This is such a sweet story with so many humorous and touching moments. With Stella trying to dodge her ex-boyfriend and Luke running from all the women vying for his attention, I could not help but giggle throughout the book. It was fun to revisit the small town and reconnect with previous characters from “No Ordinary Christmas”, the first book in the Mistletoe Maine series. To me, Belle Calhoune has a home run with this book, and it is a solid five stars. Thank you so much Forever Publishing for my advanced copy. All my thoughts and opinions are entirely my own. A delightful summer read friends.

No Ordinary Christmas - Book Review

Lucy Marshall is the sweetheart and head librarian in the small town of Mistletoe Main. Her life is quiet and just as she likes it, that is until her high school best friend/boyfriend Dante shows up in town. He is now a Hollywood Star and left Lucy in the dust when he up and left town years ago. Now he is home and wants to make amends to his family and friends, and especially the one he can not forget. Can Lucy spend time with him without getting her heart broken again? Can Dante make up for all he has lost? Maybe this Christmas might be a second chance for them both?

Belle Calhoune’s new Mistletoe Main series has started off so beautifully with the story of Lucy and Dante. It was the perfect way to introduce us to a multitude of characters and to set the scene of a perfect little town. I loved the banter between the characters and how they both came to terms of their pasts and their relationship with each other. Belle’s writing style takes you right into the story as I sat and pictured this idyllic Christmas tree farm with the snow lightly falling. As I kept reading, I was wondering whose story would be next and am already excited for the next book in the series. Thank you to Forever Publishing for my advanced readers copy that I voluntarily read and reviewed.
