Malice in Miami - Book Review

Malice in Miami by Barbara Venkataraman

Jamie Quinn is finally getting her life in order. She has a few more cases to tie up as a family attorney and then she starts her new job at an art foundation. Her boyfriend Kip is home and surely will propose any day now, her dad is in the States and life could not be better. Well that is until Jamie is accused of a multitude of crimes and tied up in a case she just can not win, her best friend Grace is not talking to her and Kip gets in the way of fiery situation. Can Jamie and her favourite PI Duke Broussard solve this case before it is too late?

Barbara Venkataraman has another hit on her hands with this new Jamie Quinn mystery. Jamie’s character is so well written and so complex that you never know what she will do next. The supporting characters each have their own quirks and personality and they support Jamie’s character so well. I love that she has her best friend Grace, but Duke steals the show with his outlandish quips and comebacks. Reading this book felt like going home again to visit old friends, as this is what these characters have become to me. All the books in the series build on each other, but you could also read them as a stand a lone novel as Barbara does a brilliant job of filling in the back stories. So, grab a warm beverage, curl up and go on an adventure you will not soon forget. Thank you so much to the author Barbara Venkataraman for an advanced copy of the book to review. It was absolutely fabulous! All opinions expressed for this review are unbiased and entirely my own.
