Harlequin September Blog Tour - His Brand of Justice - Book Review

His Brand of Justice by Delores Fossen

Book description from Harlequin:

USA TODAY bestselling author Delores Fossen does it again, with a romantic suspense book that forces a US Marshal to confront his past—and the woman who might hold all the answers…

Can he help her recover her memory before they are both killed?

The only person who knows who killed Marshal Jack Slater’s father is Caroline Moser. But the Texas profiler has no memory of the murder, her abduction…or Jack. And her witness-protection safe house has just been compromised. Now in Jack’s protective custody, Caroline must trust her ex to help her recall her past before a murderer steals their future.

My Review of the book:

Caroline Moser a profiler is in witness protection after being held captive during the murder of Marshall Jack Slaters father. Everyone believes that she knows the identity of the killer, but she has amnesia. Now someone is trying to kill Caroline, and she must decide who in law enforcement she can trust. Mostly, can she trust Jack, the man she told that she loved him right before her nightmare began?

Jack Slater and his brothers have been trying to solve the murder of their father, and Caroline looks like the best chance they have to finally get their answers. Jack will stop at nothing to protect Caroline and find out who is trying to kill her. The clock is racing, and they are running out of time.

This story is fast paced and full of action. Delores Fossen does not disappoint in this fourth book of the series. She does a brilliant job of catching up the reader on the history of the series, so you could read this as a stand a lone novel but you will want to read the whole series after this action packed book. Thank you so much to the author  Delores Fossen, Harlequin Publishing and NetGalley for an advanced copy of the book to review. It was fabulous! All opinions expressed for this review are unbiased and entirely my own.

The Christmas Swap - Book Review

The Christmas Swap by Melody Carlson

Emma Daley is a substitute teacher and an aspiring musician. She would love to stay home this Christmas, but her best friend Gillian’s family has done a house swap, so she is off to the Colorado Rockies. She hopes there is no family drama this year like in previous years or that her friend Gillian tries to play matchmaker.

Tyler Prescott is a famous songwriter and is not happy when his family talks him into giving up his home in a house swap so that they can spend Christmas in Arizona. When Tyler forgets something at the house he has to return, but he is not counting on being there when his house guests arrive or hearing a sweet voice and being intrigued by one of of the guests.

Tyler tries to hide his identity while getting to know Emma. Emma is busy trying to fit into the family dynamics and is excited when she can go on a little adventure with her new ski instructor. Will Emma find out the truth about Tyler? Will Tyler be able to keep his cover?

What a sweet romantic story. I loved all the family dynamics and twists to the storyline. The characters all had such different personalities and it really added to the story. I really enjoyed reading this book and I am looking forward to purchasing more books by this author. Thank you so much to the author Melody Carlson, Revell Publishing and NetGalley for an advanced copy of the book to review. It was fabulous! Harlequin September Blog Tour - The Last Man She Expected - Book Review

Book description from Harlequin:

How could being so wrong suddenly feel so right? Falling for her arch nemesis Isn’t going to happen.

Moving to Starlight was Mara Reed’s first step forward after her devastating divorce. But had she known she’d find Parker Johnson, her ex-husband’s ruthless divorce attorney, there, she might have gone in a different direction. Away from the big city, Mara is seeing Parker in a new light—but is it enough for her to set aside her anger?

My Review of the book:

Mara Reed and her daughter Evie are trying to build a new life in a small town. Mara had gone through a nasty divorce and had her career as an interior designer ruined, so she now works at her aunt’s coffee shop. She has a few friends and one of them is Josh, a single dad, who’s daughter Anna and Evie are best friends. When Mara offers to help Josh with a commercial development, she does not count on having his irritating but handsome brother Parker in the mix.

Parker Johnson is a family lawyer who specializes in divorce. He has his life in the big city but has come home to help his brother Josh get his new business up and running. When he meets Mara, he is intrigued, but soon finds out he was the lawyer that mitigated her divorce and ruined her life. How can Parker convince Mara that he was only doing his job? Can Mara trust the man that took everything away from her?

I absolutely loved this book. The characters were well written, and I appreciated that they did not fall in love overnight, which made the story believable. I also loved all the supporting characters and would love to read a sequel about Josh’s story. Thank you so much to the author Michelle Major, Harlequin Publishing and NetGalley for an advanced copy of the book to review. It was fabulous!
