As this is the first novel in the series, we are also introduced to Barrett’s brothers who are also lawmen. I love when I find a new series to read, and I am excited already for the next book. My Review of the book:

Caroline Moser a profiler is in witness protection after being held captive during the murder of Marshall Jack Slaters father. Everyone believes that she knows the identity of the killer, but she has amnesia. Now someone is trying to kill Caroline, and she must decide who in law enforcement she can trust. Mostly, can she trust Jack, the man she told that she loved him right before her nightmare began?

Jack Slater and his brothers have been trying to solve the murder of their father, and Caroline looks like the best chance they have to finally get their answers. Jack will stop at nothing to protect Caroline and find out who is trying to kill her. The clock is racing, and they are running out of time.

This story is fast paced and full of action. Delores Fossen does not disappoint in this fourth book of the series. She does a brilliant job of catching up the reader on the history of the series, so you could read this as a stand a lone novel but you will want to read the whole series after this action packed book.
