First She Art Girl of 2013

Morning !! Today I wanted to share my first She Art girl for 2013. I haven't made one of these for a little while and wanted to start a "She Art Journal". I thought if I kept doing canvas's, I would run out of room in the studio, lol. Then I thought..well what if one turns out so great that I want to make a canvas out of her, hmmm dilemma! So I had another brilliant idea, lol. Oh yeah, I'm calling my ideas brilliant now, lol. I decided to journal on the back of each page instead of making the girls back to back. Just write about "whatever", so it's a journal as well. I always have such great intentions at the beginning of the year, lol. So here is my girl..with her big hair...(I really need practice painting hair). She is suppose to be a likeness of me! So let's see how many girls I can get done in 2013!!! If you do some She Art..leave me a link, I would love to see your girls! Here is the saying that is on the canvas

Every Artist dips her brush into her own soul
and paints her own truth into her pictures!
( I just love this saying)

I Love U - She Art

Yes, it's another She Art Girl!! lol. I'm addicted! This one is for my daughter. It's hard to see but the background is made with "her letter to Santa when she was 9", " a poem about Angels from her Grandma" and " A note she wrote saying "I love U" to me. I vintaged it up with some ink, then got carried away with mist, so you have to get pretty close to see her letter. I tried to make the girl look like Nicole, so tried a different hair style and a more modern dress. She fell in love with it. See.. this is what I do when I'm worried. Chris (Nicole's hubby) had some pretty intensive knee surgery today. Nicole and my husband Clint were driving back and forth to the hospital in a blizzard and mom was at home in a panic! So what did I do? I got out a canvas, said a prayer and tried to relax. Now Chris is safe at home, and it's like it was a few years ago. All of us cuddled in one big bed watching t.v. and having a good laugh. I miss those days.

More She Art

Title: "Love This"

Hi Girls!! I'm sure you know by now, but I'm in LOVE with my "She Art" class. I'm learning so many new techniques and having SO much fun! I was pretty excited that I made my own clothes this time and even made a bird house. An artist I am not, but I'm learning. It's just so amazing what you can do with paint and bubble wrap, lol. I used some scraps from my Authentique collections and just sat back and got creative. That's what it's all about, no "rights" or "wrongs"...just plain FUN! Thanks so much everyone for your sweet comments and support in this journey I am on. I really appreciate it.

Playing with "She Art"

Title: "Love Your Life"

Morning Friends! I wanted to share my second "She Art" Girl I made with you. Gosh I LOVE doing this. The creative freedom I feel is incredible. These are projects that I'm doing "just for me". I'm loving playing with all these news mediums. Just last week I had no idea what a Pitt Pen was, or a Gelato. Those were foreign words to me. With a little (well a lot) of help from my very sweet friend Kelly, I now am learning about all these new wonderful things. I was up until 2am playing around with my rub-ons (yeah remember those) and my new paints and pens. Now... I have to find a place to put all these new projects!!!

My Very First She Art Girl

Title: "One Day At A Time"

Morning Everyone! I'm so excited to share my very first "She Art" Girl. After starting my mixed media class at my local scrapbook store, I of course jumped on Pinterest to search for Art Journals. I kept seeing these beautiful girls and I just had to find out HOW to make one! I came upon Christy Tomlinson's "She Art" class and signed up right away. This is what I made after following along with the tutorials. I was so scared to start, I'm not an artist. I can't draw to save my life, lol. This was soooo much fun! I loved painting, smearing, spraying, stamping, coloring and cutting! I can't wait to start the next tutorial to see what I'm going to learn next!!! Have a great scrappy day my friends!
