The Fling- Book Review

Emmaline Curtis had won an all-expense trip to Hawaii, and she took full advantage of all the perks including the handsome stranger she had a fling with. Like all vacations, it came to an end and now she is back home in her small town working on her family’s farm. She has responsibilities here and it includes helping take care of her brother who suffered a horrible accident. Life is moving right along for Emmaline, but it soon stops her in her tracks when she comes face to face with her Hawaii hookup. What is he doing in this small town?

Conor Gault is living the life, he is successful, good looking and is used to the finer things in life. When he is in Hawaii on business, he runs into a woman who is unlike anyone he has ever met. When he gets an urgent call that sends him running back home, he thinks it will be the last time he sees her. Little does he know; fate has a way of changing your course in life. When he sees his Hawaii hookup, he is shocked. How did she find him?

I adored the story of Emmaline and Conor. Two people who have scars from their pasts and are trying to create a better future. Jennifer Bernard takes us back to Lake Bittersweet and I loved getting to revisit the characters from the previous novel. In my opinion it can also be read as a standalone book because she does a brilliant job of filling in the backstory of the series. Elle Woods PR graciously gifted me a copy of the book and I am reviewing it voluntarily.

Thank you so much for stopping by the farmhouse. Lynn
