The Friendship Pact - Book Review

April Holmes, pregnant as a teen decided to keep her baby and raise her on her own. She spent many years working multiple jobs to keep a roof over their heads and food on the table. April is working at a local adventure company who focuses on wounded war veterans and following her passion for photography on the side. Her focus is being the mother she has always wanted to be for her daughter.

April’s daughter Tae owns her own event planning company and is finally in a place where she has security. She has always looked after her mother and wants a better life for them both. Life is good and Tae believes she has everything she has ever wanted. That is until she runs into Riggs Copeland, a veteran and co owner of the company she runs events for. Riggs was her best friends year ago, and they ended their friendship after a night of regrets. Tae is adamant that they can begin to be friends again, but that is a far as she is willing to go. Can Tae keep the promise she made to herself, never to fall in love?

I adored this novel by Jill Shalvis. The book had everything I love. Small towns, family and second chance romance. I enjoyed all the characters, especially the relationship between April and Tae. The added bonus was the mystery of Tae’s father which gave the story a unique twist. Thanks to Get Red PR for the advanced copy they gifted me for my voluntary review. A sweet small town romance you do not want to miss.
