Her Darkest Secret - Book Review

FBI special agent Fiona Kelly’s life has been centered around a serial killer nicknamed the Nursery Rhyme Killer. He began his killing spree as Fiona watched her sister and friends suffer at his hands when she was a teenager. Fiona was the “one that got away” something she and Rhyme have never forgotten. Rhyme has taken everything from her, her family, her marriage and her soul. She will not rest until he is caught.

When the Nursery Rhyme Killer strikes again, both he and Fiona know that she will not be able to resist working the case. As Fiona and her ex-husband FBI agent Asa Kodiak and team gather the evidence and piece together the murder, Rhyme is getting closer to his ultimate goal, Fiona. Can they figure out who the killer really is before it is too late? Will Fiona have to finally reveal the one secret she has kept hidden all these years?

If you are looking for a sit on the edge of your seat psychological thriller, then look no further. Author Jessica R. Patch describes the scenes in such detail that the reader can feel the tension as it mounts throughout the novel. The characters are complex and as the story unfolds, we get more insight into the lives of not only Fiona and Asa, but their team as well. I was totally engrossed in the book and had a hard time putting it down. I hope that this becomes a series as there are so many more stories to tell. Thank you so much to Harlequin Publishing for an advanced readers copy that I voluntarily read and reviewed. Grab your snacks and drink friends because once you start you will not want to put this book down.
