The Mother Next Door by Tara Laskowski

The Ivy Five is a group of mothers living in an idyllic neighborhood, mothers who will go to any lengths to be revered by everyone. Their lives seem are perfect or is it all a façade? Why is there only four members when there should be five? What happened to that fifth member years ago? When a new couple moves into the neighborhood, lies are uncovered, secrets are unburied, and these perfect mothers may turn out to be so not so perfect after all.

This novel by Tara Laskowski is definitely a page turner. The book reminded me of the tv show Desperate Housewives where all is not as it seems. I liked that the story was told from different perspectives and that the secrets were uncovered slowly throughout the novel. I liked the authors writing style and thought the book was well written with a great mix of characters and personalities. It was also fun to read as Halloween is soon approaching, and that was the main event in the book.  A fresh take on the usual holiday’s authors write about.
