What a thrilling ride this novel was by Hannah Mary McKinnon. It was suspenseful, full of lies and half truths, honest and dishonest characters and an ending that will leave you breathless. Once I started reading, I was engrossed in the characters and what truths would come to light throughout the novel. I loved each twist and turn, which took us deeper into the past. For me, this was the first book I had read by this author, so not being familiar with her writing style, I was taken by surprise at the ending.
