Baby One Last Time - Book Review

Cynthia has been dismissed from HEAT ( Headquarters for the Elimination of Advanced Threats) and is now a yard decorator. When her poor flamingos are deflated, she vows to get them fixed. When she walks out of the gate, her old flame and HEAT partner is standing on the street. Why would he show up now? It has been two months since has been relieved of her HEAT duties. She soon finds out what he and the HEAT team really want.

Derek is trying to put his torrid affair with Cynthia behind him as he now heads up the team. Will bringing Cynthia back in the fold be worth putting his feelings aside for?

Get ready for an action-packed romance ride along with all the agents of HEAT. This book has it all. Action, suspense, adventure and romance. The characters which are so diverse are written so well by the author Harper Cross that you get drawn into their stories quickly. The story was light letting us into the lives of the agents, yet it also turned up the heat and had some nefarious mobsters to deal with. I really enjoyed this book and am looking forward to the next one in the series. I am also planning on reading the prequel to the series “Baby It’s Hot Outside” to learn more about the team and what led up to Cynthia’s dismissal. My thanks to Harper Cross for an advanced copy of the book to read. All the opinions expressed are entirely my own.
