Addie has come back home with her two year old son to renovate a B&B once owned by her family. She is starting a new life after her divorce and is hoping she didn’t take on more than she can handle on her limited budget. 

Evan is back in the small Colorado town fixing up his mother’s house to put it on the market. He has so many memories here and they come all come front and center when he runs into his high school girlfriend Addie in the hardware store.

Evan offers to help Addie renovate the B&B and is convinced he can keep his old feelings buried where she is concerned. Addie is wrestling with the fact that she has something she must confess to Evan, but she is convinced that when she bears her secret, she will lose Evan for good. 

This was such a sweet story and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I didn’t know that it was a spin off of a previous series, but I had no problem catching up on the backstory of Evan’s family. I loved the easy friendship between the characters and how they both were coping with past hurts and mistakes but conquered them together. A perfect book to curl up with on a rain spring day.
