Waking Up Slowly - Book Review
Author Dave Burchett takes us on a real life journey of waking up to Gods miracles each and every day. He uses examples from his own life, from his grandchildren, his wife, and his beloved Maggie, the retriever, to show us that God is around us each day, we only need to wake up and see His glory all around us. Dave talks about disconnecting from social media.. what? Let go of our phones, tablets and computers? It's about getting to know God. I love this sentence from the book " My busyness does not please God. My faith pleases Him. And I can't have faith and trust in someone I am too busy to know." That hits home for me. It's about getting rid of the "clutter", slowing down and getting to know God, trusting in Him and being still enough to see how He is working in your life.
I think this is one of the best books I have ever read. I love Dave's honesty, integrity and real life truths he shares in the book. His writing style draws you in and makes you feel that you are not alone in your journey to know God more intimately. I don't think there is a page in the book where I didn't highlight something Dave said or a Scripture he shared. It's a journey you won't be sorry you took... it's time to wake up ( and you can do it slowly). I was so graciously given a copy of this book from Tyndale House for an honest review.
Thanks so much for stopping by. I love reading your comments and I appreciate your scrappy support! Have a wonderfully happy scrappy day! Lynn
