Echoes in the Mist - Book Review

Stanley Howard is a city girl at heart. She runs a successful cosmetics firm along with her aunt Zoie and loves living in her high rise penthouse and driving her Porsche. Zoie asks Stanley to go with her to Africa, and Stanley feels she just cannot take the time away from work. Soon though, after Zoie passes away, Stanley must make a choice whether to give up her inheritance or go to Africa for a three-month volunteer position, leaving her life of luxury behind.

When Stanley arrives in Africa, she is met by Jeremy Bergen, a very handsome vet and manager at the lodge. Maybe this trip is not going to be so bad after all! When Stanley starts getting involved in the elephant rescue and begins bonding with the animals, she starts seeing life in a different light. She also starts bonding with Jeremy and all the people that are helping him run the lodge. What will happen when Stanley must return home? Can she leave Africa and Jeremy?

I wish I could tell you more about the story, but that would ruin the twist you just do not see coming, so I must stop here.

Rifi Strawn amazed me with this novel. She is a brilliant writer and draws you right into the jungles of Africa as you journey with Stanley and Jeremy. I not only loved the book, but I learned so many new things about Africa and its inhabitants. At times I was on the edge of my seat, or in tears, or in giggles and literally could not put this book down. This is on my list of my most favourite books of all time. This is one you do not want to miss. Thank you so much to the author Rifi Strawn, and Authors XP for an advanced copy of the book to review. It was fabulous! All opinions expressed for this review are unbiased and entirely my own.

After hanging up my interior design hat, the desire to create still burned inside. I sewed, knitted, made jewelry, and turned my backyard into a mini-botanical garden (I wish), but the yearning to do more didn't stop.
I got busy on my computer crafting romance novels and loved it. I've been lucky enough to travel, enjoy different cultures, and meet interesting people. I channel those experiences into my stories--my characters and settings. I hope you love them as much as I do. What started as a creative outlet, is now a full-time passion and job.
I call myself a citizen of the world, but at heart I'm a true Texan. I married my best friend, and we have two children I'm proud of. When I'm not writing, I love to cook, ride my bicycle with friends, and explore new places.
